here is what you need to know about this location before coming here
beware the entrance it's tricky you actually have to go in through Chuy's off the corner entrance off the intersection as if you're about to get back onto I-35 which also then funnels into a nearby hotel there and some other places apparently I'm not aware if there was another way to access it from the other side but I tried to loop around coming from the west only to find myself in the regions parking lot cut off and not allowing me to then get into the cracker barrel had to wait patiently then get around rush hour traffic and heavy traffic to finally enter the building properly
From there it's totally worth it with lots of parking to be had all around the building and this evening it was packed with nearly all the parking but thankfully we found despite nearly all the parking being filled a good parking spot and walked on over
they have a nice Texan Western feel to it with rocking chairs outside in the front and outside dining areas as well for the family to sit down and enjoy
what I want to focus on was the area where we were quickly seated at which was very well done and organized here we receded a record time despite the building being packed
I want to recognize our server "Maya"
young gal with the ponytail at the time sweet smile and professional positive presentation of the whole place he quickly got me hot water with lemon and then when my mom came back from using the restroom got my mom sit you right on beverages got me up to date on the rewards program we put in our orders and we got our orders and record time all the while see if it's very hospitable even asked about my mom's food allergies catered to our needs and later helped me with getting another receipt and getting our bill paid
now that being said what I would say to be aware of is how this place structures how you pay
so for the record you don't actually pay your server
while they accept cash would you have to do if you don't scan the QR code on the receipt and pay on your phone digitally through their interface which you can also get on your free Wi-Fi to try to speed up then you got to shuffle around an area that is not clearly identifiable and surrounded by stuff near the entrance for sale and blends in with a corner pocket of traffic as well to hold it up who are getting there to go orders
To me this was not very well thought out at this location I don't know if this is just the thing and how they structured them at all the cracker barrels but we nearly ran out of the building not paying our ticket only to realize the wait a second I didn't pay my ticket couldn't find my receipt had to go back in go to the front wait a little bit till they were able to get our waitress who was able to reprint out a receipt and then I was able to quickly pay the receipt there to front with cash and designate a tip for a waitress
As for the customer service overall what's positive do I could tell the people at the front desk or stressed as their computer systems were also running slow
The men's restroom was nothing necessarily worth mentioning the tile was ugly as get out it had a 7-Eleven gas station feel just grateful it had two urinals and was able to get in and out with depressing lighting
that aside I can definitely say though there's selection of Disney items and other various random items at the front with stacked with something for just about everyone
as for the food selection my mom and I got the rainbow trout special and the fish was perfect the broccoli was perfect but my choice of fried apples on the side was not with the fried apples coming office like not cooked enough like one piece was literally almost cold and another slice was off
on the other hand I brought that to my waitresses attention I ended up getting a free dessert later through the rewards I was able to scoop that up and that well made up for it again they were very well accommodating that made sure to correct each and everything that was not done properly helped us every step...
Read moreWe just went to Cracker Barrel at exit 254 in round rock Texas. Ask for a third egg they indicated that it was $1.30 I said OK they came back and said it wasn’t $1.30 it was 249 so I told them no I don’t want the third egg because that translates to over $30 a dozen
A girl came out and said that she would take it back, and I asked what she Was going to do with it and she said she was going to take one egg off and I said what are you going to do with that egg and she said put it on another plate for someone
Then the waiter came out and I told both of them wouldn’t be the easiest thing to do be assembly. Say we made a mistake with the third egg and they’ll be no charge for it. Sorry about the inconvenience.
But no these snowflakes and cupcakes said we will remake the whole plate And I said what sense does that make you’re not going to waste all of the food and my wife will have to sit Here and eat her breakfast alone while I wait on mine.
Based on the fiasco in the lack of any leadership between the servers and the manager who I spoke to, we simply said sorry we’ll just go somewhere else we got up to leave.
As we got to the front door, a lady asked how our visit was and my wife indicated that it was pretty bad, she asked why we explained the fiasco and she said let me call the general manager. The general manager’s name was JOOSEP VAIKSAAR
He came out and introduced himself as the general manager and we explained the situation and he said well first off. He has a server in the back that’s crying. I’m thinking over what, an egg
Are youth cannot handle a decision as to what to do with a plate and taking food off a plate from a customer and putting it on another customer’s plate is a violation of health code in the first- degree. More importantly, what does it say about any of the food that’s coming from the kitchen that the servers would make that kind of a statement
Having told their general manager that he was more concerned about their feelings than he was the fact that a customer had not been treated appropriately
For some reason, he thought that it must be my responsibility to train their servers and their assistant managers, as opposed to being a customer who comes in orders a meal enjoys it and pays for it i’m not sure what he wanted me to do. Maybe it was to come in and build them a safe space in case anybody in the restaurant ever had a complaint.
Anyway, now we know how cupcakes and snowflakes operate in this world without supervision they can’t make a decision And when the general manager is more concerned about the waitress being upset in the customer, walking out the door and never coming back, any wonder why we have problems in this country and why the kids don’t wanna work at a job in an office and can’t deal with the fact that they don’t know what to do with an extra egg
I apologies if I sound like a cupcake and complaining about this, but I suspect there are some people that will say this review is a crock of crap and there are others that will no longer go because they don’t need this. Yes it is a crock of crap, no customer should be dealt with this, management had no idea how to solve the problem and when they were question, they got defensive and fell back on. You need to be respectful to me. I was respectful, I walked in the door. I ordered $30 worth of breakfast and I was served garbage treated badly and I walked out the door. What else does the restaurant expect me to do? What else does the restaurant...
Read moreThe food was OK, but not as good as it has been in the past. I assumed you have a new chef. The waitress was very kind, but not very experienced. Was not available for refills. I ordered dessert before I finished my meal and still had to wait a very long time to get it. I had to talk to two other people before she finally came. I assume she had forgotten my order. When I received my dessert, I ordered A five dollar take-home meal, which was not only super skimpy,, but did not look appetizing. I always get the five dollar to go meals from Olive Garden and I assumed it would be at least that good. I was completely shocked when I saw how unappetizing it looked and the portion was so unbelievably small, probably three bites. At least with Olive Garden you get enough for a meal and their five dollar meals are actually very good. It took them forever to figure out how to credit my bill and it also took a very long time for the waitress to finally bring me my bill when I requested it. The wait times were very long and I had to spend way too much time there after my meal. I understand that all prices have gone up, but you have also made a joke out of the five dollar take home meal. You should check out Olive Garden and learn from them in that respect. Also customer service.. I have gone to Cracker Barrel for many years often on and have even taken my family there at Thanksgiving two times. We have always been pleased with it, but it appears your going overboard on skimping and with Customer Service in addition to higher prices, which is understandable. I have also had problem not too long ago in purchasing an expensive bag which fell apart after the first time using it. It appears you are also skimping on the quality of your merchandise And raising the prices. At least at Walmart, I have had better luck with their quality at a lower price. If it happens, one more time in regards to the restaurant or store purchases, I will no longer...
