The takeout specialist was absolutely wonderful and so was management. The host wasn’t as pleasant but overall the employees were kind, pleasant, and helpful. The takeout specialist was so kind and helpful on the phone answering patient. Hard to come by in a busy restaurant during dinner rush. While there was an error on the order it was nothing against the employee and when speaking with management they were so helpful and kind. I had to call a couple times since I wasn’t getting the email but it wasn’t an issue and each time everyone was great! I spoke with 2 managers in the ordeal and was another great experience.
Food was ok… I wouldn’t say anywhere close to authentic Italian but that is hard when you have grown up in Europe. But prices are decent, good specials, very popular restaurant. Wouldn’t say must have and wouldn’t say awful.. it was food.
The one and only thing that was concerning, and was a BIG concern was the women’s restroom. That had to be one of the worst things I had ever seen in my life! I’m not sure if that had happened quickly or if restroom checks weren’t being done. There were multiple hosts and when I came in all were at the front having a blast and no one was waiting but the bathroom was scary 😱, and that is putting it nicely. I’m not sure how other people were just walking in and out and ok to use the bathroom before mentioning anything bc I walked in and immediately the smell 😷was overwhelming. I walked past each stall and not only were the commodes covered in toilet paper 🧻 but not clean toilet paper. And the same was for the floors. And this was every stall. I got to the end and turned around walked out and didn’t even want to stay to wash my hands in there. As I walked in there was an employee coming out of the stall and went to the sink… She seemed unbothered… 🤢 There was another patron (woman) who happened to walk out of a stall and seemed to be pleasant about using the bathroom and when she saw me turn around she said you can use this one and was confused 🤔when I said no thank you 🫤. Again I was not willing to touch any part of anything after what I saw including the sink! 🤮🤮
Scary bc if that is the restroom employees were using to then they go back to serve the food, or cook, or anything … it was just not ok so while the staff was pleasant and great, the restroom was VERY concerning for cleanliness & sanitation even leaving the bathroom as it was contaminated from every aspect (and I hope I don’t need to spell it out to you) SO THATS WHY THE ATMOSPHERE WAS RUINED! I could smell the restroom before opening the women’s door. And I only can speak to the women’s. **NOW LETS MAKE IT KNOWN THAT THIS ISNT ENTIRELY THE FAULT OF THE STAFF. Yes restroom checks were heavily slacked on but it made me question the female patrons/guests visiting the restroom.. NASTY! What do you do at home?!
Sorry for the long review (and I rarely leave them) but being in service industry and in management myself it was something I couldn’t ignore or not address!!
This was a first time going back to Olive Garden in over 15 years..
(Google wanted me to add photos and trust that would have been a bad idea! Nor would I want to share that nightmare with anyone who sees...
Read moreA Welcome and Refreshing Lunch We had not been in an Olive Garden since leaving California a few years ago. In general, they had a corporate reputation - at least in California - for being a get in, sit down, shut up and eat fast kind of restaurant. On top of that, their food was just OK. There was not a lot to draw us back in. Well, today we got see the Texas version of Olive Garden, and we were delightfully gobsmacked. While digging through her purse for something else, my wife came across an Olive Garden Gift Card that we suspect had been in there for at least a year. We toyed around with the idea of using it several months ago, but our impressions from the past still gripped us, so she shoved it back in her purse thinking we would just re-gift it. It went back in the purse until this morning. We found the Round Rock restaurant and decided to give it a try for lunch. What a pleasant diversion and affirmation that all impressions are not equal. First, we had to want a few minute for a table - and I mean just a few - so they gave us a pager. On the face of the pager was a sticker that told the bearer to proceed to the bar area a few feet away and collect a half-off glass of wine while they waited. Imagine that! A glass of house red for $2.98. A nice start to say the least. While I was picking my wife's glass of wine, the pager went off, and we were seated immediately. Within a few seconds, a very gracious young man named Octavio (who looked like he was 12, but had the mature sense of responsibility of a seasoned waiter) showed up, delivered menus and took beverage orders. He smiled, said "Yes sir!" and "Yes mam!" showing a great sense of decorum. Food orders were recorded on a portable device and delivered spooky fast. We ordered from the lunch menu which allows the patron some ability combine, mix and match salads and soups with perfectly sized lunch entrees. Dessert was not pushed on us, but we chose to order it and the taste of their Lemon Cream Cake was a treat that lingered with me for the afternoon. Yummy! Parking was easy though it was little tricky for us as first time visitors getting there. The address is 100 Sundance Parkway, but the restaurant faces the I-35 frontage road, and you have to pass the restaurant before you turn in. The restaurant is clean and modern with ADA compliant facilities. Their menu includes gluten sensitive options. Go have lunch, or dinner. You will enjoy it. We...
Read moreMy husband and I came in late tonight for dinner and our server's name was Danni.... she took our order and we ordered an appetizer along with our meal, no drinks just water. After about 30 Minutes we hadn't got any food and noticed our appetizer was given to the people behind us who were just sat down. When she walked by the table I asked about the salad (it doesn't take over 30 minutes for salad) and she said they were working on it......we told her we thought our appetizer was given to the wrong people. She grabbed the appetizer from the people behind us and attempted to give it to us after it was already at that table for a little while. Not to be funny but we were not comfortable eating something else that came from another table. Finally someone brought salad out to the table. About about 10 minutes more she came by and said they were still working on the food, after noticing everyone that came in after us was already eating we questioned why it was taking so long and she proceeded to explain that is was not the fault of the restaurant but it was her fault and apologized. Although it was already really ridiculously long to get food we still gave her the benefit of the doubt and were still waiting. Now this is almost an hour of being there and still no appetizer and no food. Another server came to the table to confirm what we had ordered and said she was taking over because Danni wanted to switch tables, we were really confused at this point and asked what was going on and the lady changed up and said the manager was sending her home. But as she said that Danni walked by to serve the table behind us. This is absolute terrible customer service and will not be returning to this establishment ever again. We left with no meal and it was too late to go to another place to eat. She completely ruined out dinner and I'm really not sure what her issue was but she should not be a server if she can't do her job correctly or does not want to serve specific people. Olive Garden needs...
