I came to this restaurant today for an important business lunch. I saw two roaches crawling on the floor and one right on our table. I called over the server and pointed it out. She just smashed it with her hand and casually said, “We’ve been spraying lately, so they’ve been running around.” I was completely freaked out inside. I’m terrified of roaches, but because I was hosting a very important client, I had to keep it together and act like everything was fine. Deep down, I was panicking. I was also mortified worried he’d think I took him to some dirty, low-standard place that didn’t respect him. The whole time, I felt cold, anxious, and nauseous like bugs were crawling all over me. And as we were eating, I saw even more roaches crawling across the floor. I kept my feet off the ground and didn’t want to touch anything. To make it worse, when we paid the check, no one said a word about what happened. No apology, no discount, nothing from the server or the manager. This restaurant isn’t cheap, and for the price they charge, this kind of hygiene is absolutely unacceptable. I’ve never written a negative review before, but I still feel sick thinking about it. I’ll be reporting this to the health department. Please shut down and take care of your infestation before you serve another plate. Nobody should have to eat with roaches or whatever poison you’re spraying...
Read moreThey are one of the very best Taiwanese food in so-Cal. We went to many Taiwanese food restaurants, from hole in the wall to banquet style restaurants. This one is hands down the best one we've ever had!
The decor is very well done. It's perfect for banquets or family gathering, or friends/class/business reunions. There are many big tables.
The dishes that are most impressed on are the dragon-whisker vegi dish, the steamed cod full fish, and mixed snow peas/ocroa/... vegi dish, 3-cups medley and some others too. We saw others ordered the pork feet specials that look tasty too!
We were busy eating so we forgot to take photos of many tasty dishes...
Not only the main dishes, their desserts are simply amazing! Definitely the 8-treasure rice is a must! It's heavenly!!
Even though the price may be higher than those like hole-in-the-wall bistros, it really reflects the quality ingredients and fine authentic cooking in these awesome dishes. We just love how good the food is!
Another plus is that they also carry some of the really good but not in the big supermarket items, such as chicken rice noodles, or Taiwanese vinegar and others. It makes the meal a Taiwanese specialty market trip too.
Overall, we just love this place, and their food there. Also, the restaurant is close to the freeway, very easy to get off and on the freeway 60 / Nogales. Highly...
Read moreWe just moved to Irvine, CA from Seattle and would like to try some authentic Taiwanese restaurants in Rowland Heights. Before taking my family to dine in , I had reviewed many good and bad reviews. In my mind, if the food quality is good , expensive entrees are not the issue for me.
We went there on Saturday morning around 11:30 AM. Only 2 tables including us and I felt so surprised. The first impression in my mind: If the reviews are so good, why few customers today?
We ordered the following items and cost us $86.
$6 Three Steam Rice bowl
$30 Chicken , calamari, pork intestines & tofu( 三杯總匯)
Comment: The food is just ok, not impressive. Not worth $30.
$20 Stir-fried noodles with Mutton (沙茶羊炒麵)
Comment: Too much water spinach (空心菜), less noodles and less mutton. We want more noodles, not water spinach. Did water spinach replace the noodles due to inflation?
$30 Braised Duck Blood & Pork Kidneys (五更腸旺)
Comment: They don't provide the fire equipment to keep the food warm any more. Small tray costs $30 and not authentic. Another Taiwanese restaurant in Irvine is more authentic than this one.
There are so many delicious and yummy Taiwanese restaurants in Rowland Heights. Since we tried this one and felt very disappointed, we will not go...
