If you've been a Yelper as long as I have, you sometime aren't too phased with the ratings for Chinese places. I mean, as long as they don't have a rating below a C, that's tolerable right? (A side point, I HAVE seen a rating that was actually 55)
Well, this place won a special award in my heart for the most NON TOLERABLE Chinese restaurant I've ever been. Here's why:
When standing in front of the fish tank hoping to wave to someone to saying I have a party of 5, I was noticed 10 minutes after. No, I'm not kidding, I run with a stop watch so I know my time was correct .
When trying to put in an order, it took another 10 minutes to get someone. OK, this time I didn't time it only because I was with my party but I can sure say, I have waved my hand more than six times right next to the guy at the bar , who didn't care to notice.
When we got a lady to take our order, she spoke only Chinese and told me if I spoke Chinese. When I said no, she left for 2 minutes trying to find someone to translate but failed and came back with no one.
When I tried to order an item from the menu that was past 11am breakfast time, it was really difficult to tell the waitress that I wanted something that you still have during 11:30am and I ended up just ordering noodles instead.
So the noodles came and I ordered their beef noodles. The stock was good but I only had 3 pcs. of beef. This honestly, should've been a kid sized menu item for $7.
My poor brother who had the porridge waited almost 30 minutes and then they brought the wrong one. The items inside the porridge dictates what you ordered. Well, the schmuck who brought out his porridge had brought it to another table. You wouldn't believe the guy just swapped his porridge with my brothers. We have no idea if the guy ate it or not , but the side of the bowl that my brother ended up getting clearly had porridge all over the place.
No one at our table raved at the food.
This place is just a nightmare. I can't imagine coming back.
And so I thought I would attach this to this review . AB 2365, the Yelp law. Jerry Brown...
Read moreThis is my last time to visit this location - The Noodle Rowland Height regardless my family ( Cantonese) always come here to get food. However the 2 last visit there food was no longer fresh and good as before, the rice plate is still ok but all noodle went down the hill. Last time I ordered 3 orders: stew beef soup with flat rice noodle, Shredded pork stir fried rice noodle and tomato&beef rice. The rice was good, beef was tasty and juicy. The noodle was terrible, the stir fried one each noodle broken into small piece look like broken rice, it was very very oily and soft like wet rice so we could not eat it, we ate the beef noodle which was only 3 slide of small stew beef no more, beef was almost fat and chewy. I was disappointed but then think maybe because i came at that time was late, around 7pm so their food have no more the fresh ingredients. Today 11/3/2022 I came back around 6pm, ordered BBQ soup noodle ( BBQ duck and BBQ pork) and scramble egg with shrimp rice. We eat the noodle, all we can eat is the rice noodle but have to throw away the duck and pork. Look at the picture of the pork, I taking before dumping to trash ( the duck was dumped before pork, I forgot to take picture of it). The duck and pork are both very old one, I bet they was left over one and last at least a week in their fridge. Both of them as hard as wood bar, no way to eat them. The duck is worse, only fat and bone from the bottom part of the duck, you can see bone and skin and fat. We have not tried the rice, it is for lunch tomorrow so hope it is good otherwise I have just throw $46 to the trash bin. I never think they are specialize in BBQ but they can give those kind of food for customers, no respect at all, it is cheating. You collect real money but you give trashy food for customers, it is not what Chinese restaurant will...
Read moreWow. This place was far more expensive than I thought. We've came for lunch before so prices were always on the cheaper side, but last night was our first time we ordered out for dinner. 4 simple dishes and it came out to be $53.00.
We ordered two combo platter ($11.50)-- BBQ pork was $10.50 a pound (usually $8-$9 at other Chinese places) and roasted sausage. Sauteed vegetables ($12.88; usually $7-$8), ginger beef ($9.88), and beef chow fun ($13.88, usually $9). Although will admit the flavors were solid and that it's nice they are close to home so it's convenient to order from, but they are waaaay too expensive to eat at again for dinner. Two stars for the value experience, but an extra star because the taste was pretty decent. Although not really sure why they're more expensive than places like Jade House or Diamond Palace. Maybe their rent is really high in...
