Looks nice but would caution due to management. It was a snow day and my typical library open to the public was closed; I came to not only work and have a nice work ambiance but to also try one of their drinks. I needed to set up for a meeting so I was preparing to order in a few minutes or so. Whom I came to find out was the owner, approached me as I was working, since I was finishing an outside beverage yet I was planning to discard it. After he approached me, I immediately discarded the drink to my car and came back to work. Then as I continued to work, he then approached me a second time within minutes and asked me if my intent was to come in and not purchase anything as seating is meant for guests... I immediately told him “no, I had mentioned prior that I was preparing to order a beverage although was not ready yet and that was not my intent.” I then proceeded and bought a tea. I let him know I’d purchased it and as soon as I sat down he came back and asked me to LEAVE and that I was the problem… I will add here as a black women, people tend to label you as an issue when you observe unnecessary rudeness, assertion, or when someone is clearly targeting you. He also disregarded that I had mentioned prior I was going to order and he failed to keep a polite attitude and tone throughout these exchanges /made faces, and thus chose to invalidate my experience talking with him. I have never in my life experienced an exchange like this. So I would caution coming here-specifically of color or other ethnicity. To my acknowledgment, I would have left my other juice in the car and even planned on throwing it out, but kicking me out and calling me an issue was excessive and plain rude. I will never come here again. It’s unfortunate because I genuinely wanted to try it out, not only for work but the menu, yet now I’m left with a sour taste being I was accused of using “free space, free Wi-Fi and heating” without patronage yet I’ve worked in service years before corporate pharma and never took advantage, it made me feel like I was being told I was cheap. The owner should take responsibility for how this made me feel I was embarrassed for his display against me....
Read moreBeanbury is a nicely decorated coffee shop with trendy light up signs and great avocado toast. If you want to sip your coffee and munch on your avo toast while been spoken down to by the OWNER, this is the place for you! I could not believe the lack of customer service, coming from a Foodservice business owner in this time of inside dining restrictions. I came in with 2 other people and we sat at a small table with 2 chairs. I pulled the closest chair I could see (which happened to be a sole armchair in the corner, no more than 2 ft away) to the table so I could sit with my 2 friends. After sitting for over 30 min, the owner came to our table and with a very negative, condescending attitude, told me ‘What made you think you could move my furniture?’ PS there were no signs stating not to move the furniture. I calmly addressed the owner and told her she should have a sign so people know this policy, and she continued to condescendingly tell me that I shouldn’t move her furniture. I told her her that my friends and I are reasonable people. She did not relent with her attitude - even when I reminded her that WE are her customers, and in this time of restrictions, she should realize that customer service is critical to her business. We were floored that she admitted to being the owner when I asked her. She was clearly more passionate about defending her position on an issue that could have been resolved very simply, than providing her customers with a positive experience. I am in the Foodservice industry myself and have respect and compassion for the businesses trying their best to make it - however, Beanbury and its owner have lost my respect and business. There is no avocado toast (and a $7.25 one at that) worth being treated like a...

I truly dislike leaving New York particularly when it comes to eating but I would leave with regularity to come here.
First off, it has an unbelievable interior that would make it one of the top cafes in the city (all of it designed and constructed by the owners!).
Secondly, their staff is very friendly and informative which puts any non craft coffee drinker at ease and ensures the fanatics that these people know what they're doing.
Lastly, the menu. I was in NJ for a weekend and went here twice. I ordered their New Orleans chicory iced coffee, a hazelnut blend and their banana rama (a must). All excellent - craft quality in large affordable sizes. Their breakfast sandwich is unique and delicious - go for two (they're that good). I was so impressed with the place that I also ventured to try their blueberry muffin, acai bowl and a Lucky Charms treat (think Rice Crispy but better).
Dates, grab and stay, catch up with friends - this is the place no questions asked. Didn't think I'd ever say this, but.. can't wait to go...
