During this pandemic times are very difficult for us all. Financially times are very hard for us all.. I usually can’t afford to go out and buy dinner for my family , I have been trying to support local businesses, tipped those dedicated to providing services for us all. Last night, dealing with power losses I decided to get dinner out. Having eaten endless times at this diner, I placed and order to be picked up. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to order online, the website is not user friendly and with my childrens allergies I wasn’t comfortable using it, I could not risk the chances. I called and placed a pretty simple order, just specifically stating that No Cheese on the bacon burger, my sons allergy . After 45 mins, and @$70.00 I got home( detours and road closures) finding that Cheese was on his burger, and everything else placed in the containers. The portions were very disappointing, the quality of food was less than average. Burnt onion rings, over cooked and dry prime rib, not a queen size portion, wilted salad and overdone wings. Not the quality or quantity I usually get from here while inside being served. I would of sent it all back .. getting home to Very hunger boys flipping out, upset ruined my comple diner. I called the manager on duty and was totally treated poorly. He never even apologized or was willing to correct the problem.. I will never go back here, many other places are open and worthy of my money and time. It’s sad that people are trying their best and others are taking advantage of needing people!! These times we should be trying harder, not taking advantage of people who trust the plafe proving a...
Read moreI sat at the counter. The waitress didn't introduce herself, but instead first off said she was "so pissed" and proceeded to complain about a cute table of little elderly people who just couldn't hear her... Who complains about that?? And, who complains about that TO A CUSTOMER THEY JUST SAW FOR THE FIRST TIME?? Very inappropriate.
The food was good, but this waitress was horrible. She brought the wrong drink order, she brought things only after I asked repeatedly (for lemon and horseradish, and, mind you, I was sitting at the counter, not a mile away from the lemon and horseradish).
After I got my check, I witnessed the chef at the carving station take customers' dirty dishes to the bin, eat a bowl of his own food, then begin carving again (without his apron!) and pushing a slice of prime rib onto a plate with his DIRTY HAND, all without washing his hands in between, nor using a hand sanitizer... This is how germs like hepatitis are spread! If the health inspector had seen that, they would have been in trouble--rightfully so. If I had seen this before I ate my food, I would have left because I have a compromised immune system. I informed the hosted when I checked out, but, it seemed to fall on deaf ears.
This family-run diner has so much potential to be wonderful, but, it appears they need some staff changes to make dining more pleasant and most of all, MAKE IT SAFE...
Read moreWell. My review has two parts. Service and food. We have arrived on Sunday at 2 pm. Place was full, so we've expected to wait. Young hostess took my name and we sat down by arcade machines. More people came (also party of 4) in, gave their name...and they were called in. We're still waiting. I've decided, that if in 10 minutes we're not seated, we're leaving. There are plenty of other establishments in the area. Two minutes before time was up, another hostess came out and asked if we are waiting to be seated... again, I've said yes... Then we were seated within 3 minutes. So, service wise, one star. Why bother taking names?
Food: waitress was pleasant and quick. Good selection of breads: challah, seasame sticks, crackers. French onion soup was not overly salty, and tasty. Food was coming late - we've finished the bread and appetizer, and we're still waiting...(over 20 minutes).. When food arrived, calamari were unfortunately overcooked. French toast was good, so was turkey with gravy and Italian stallion omelet. Overall, maybe because of my initial impression - being overlooked for seating, I will think twice before coming back...
