Garcia's Cafe — Restaurant in Ruidoso

Love the food there . The atmosphere is nice it was a bit hot inside . We are local so I've been a few times and really enjoyed my meal . The only draw back was out waiter he was rude and overwhelmed. I can excuse a lot bc I've worked in the restaurant business for years , but when your rude to elders is when I get upset. We have had him twice once when it was slow and yesterday when the dinner rush was starting. He would communicate with us like I'll be right there . When we said thank you to him he just made a face and walked away . He also got our order wrong and didn't even run the food or check if it was ok . My mom asked for more salsa and he ignored her then at the end of the meal set down two cups of salsa like here . Toma . So he just wasted his own product trying to treat us like we where annoying him but being there . It was uncomfortable and even my teens started to get bothered saying we should have never went out to eat. So we spent around 60 bucks it's avarage prices now days . But the food is always good 😊. Unfortunately, it was bad all the way around. Chips, salsa and guacamole were all good. Entrees were embarrassingly bad. They used like pizza sauce on my enchiladas for red sauce. Some of the worst “Mexican” food I’ve had.

Service before, during and after meal was terrible. There was a language barrier which may have resulted in our orders being incomplete and/or wrong. However, language barriers have nothing to do with timeliness of service, etc. It was just plain bad unfortunately. And, no, they were not busy at the time.

Atmosphere was fine except for there is no AC or, if so, it wasn’t working and we were here in July.

We were told by a local couple (gringos) that it was good. However, it honestly wasn’t. At all. Not the food, not the drinks, or the place.

This is a no-brainer place to eat for our Ruidoso trips, however; this time was awful! My beef fajitas were burned and were extremely greasy. You can tell they were made an hour prior and just sat on the grill. There was tons of burned soot in the food, you can see on the photo attached.. I let them know I was not happy and they never offered to get me other food, instead they gave me half off of my plate. Instead of changing it out for food that was edible.. Then the 3 or 4 waitresses snickered and kept walking by my table looking at my uneaten food.. I disgusted that I even had to pay for my plate. I ate mainly the veggies and the tortillas were hard as a rock.. I refuse to ever go there again...I will no longer be a repeat customer!!!!! $35 for my nasty fajita, my wife had carnitas and we both had a soda... The cashier said the cook only allowed her to take $7 off and not the whole plate... My family and friends will...
