Taqueria La Patrona — Restaurant in Ruidoso

We stayed in Ruidoso for 5 days and ate at Taqueria La Patrona 3 times. The service here is excellent and the food is really good with reasonable prices. There is lots of seating and they stay open until 8pm. Most places close earlier and we didn't want to wait 2 hrs for p*zza. This was a lucky find for us bc the service is quick even with a long line. We got the barbacoa torta and barbacoa quesadilla on flour. Huge quesadillas with lots of cheese. Yummy! And their melon drinks are so good! Watermelon and canolope were so refreshing. We met the owners, a young man with his wife and sister run the place and they are hustling to make sure everyone enjoys their food. They gave us a free melon juice and dessert on one of our visits. We really enjoyed our visit here each time and will definitely be back. This is a must stop if you are visiting. It's close to the main drag but just outside of the crazy crowd. Perfect for a large family too bc of the large seating areas and good parking. We even ordered to go one night and ate at the cabin. Family of 5 with kids and we really enjoyed this place. My family and I came for dinner to try a new place for the first time. We ordered a lot of different things and they were all fantastic. The guy at the front counter recommended the pistachio agua fresca (which we had never even heard of before) but after trying it we all couldn’t stop raving about how amazing it tasted. I highly recommend getting an extra one to go, because you will be forever haunted in your dreams, longing for one more taste after trying it… The service was also shockingly fast, we sat at our table for like five minutes and the food was already being put on the table. We were the first ones to show up in morning!! So I know they were probably rushing to get our food ready.. My husband order their burger, they had no tripitas but he got charged fill price for it.. I order enchiladas and oh wow they were very salty, so I didn't finish my plate.. My son in law said he was getting water, but instead he got Powerade and the guy in the front immediately went to the table and charged him for the drink ( it's ok since he got a different drink), bit seriously they changed is full price on a burger that's missing ingredients and my food was honestly not good.. We love going to Ruidoso, bit we will never go back to those...
