Caffè Barbaro — Restaurant in Rutherford

Café Barbado is one of my favorite spots ever. The coffee is consistently excellent—smooth espresso and perfectly made lattes. They also have great pastries, especially the Latin-inspired ones like pan de yuca and pandebono, they are all super fresh and flavorful.

The vibe is cozy and relaxed, with plenty of space to sit, work, or catch up with friends. The staff is always warm and welcoming, which makes the whole place feel like a little community. Definitely a local gem.

All of these one star reviews are from Ara coffee, who has their staff write bad reviews since they feel threatened. Very unprofessional, half of them were wrote before the cafe even opened. If anything this should show that Barbaro is the better choice of the two, respectful and saying thank you even with all these bad comments. The owner of this shop did lots of research and went to many coffee shops around the nation so you know this is the best...

Excellent baked goods. The bun thing filled with the custard was amazing. The custard was so eggy and delicious I could have eaten 12 of them. Coffee was great but the absolutely need to offer Oat Milk. They only had almond which is ok but oat milk is 10 times better and very popular please start stocking oat milk!!! Overall great experience and I also just have to say it’s disturbing to me the coffee shop next to them had to attack these guys on Google reviews. It’s clearly the owner of Ara that caused this business which JUST OPENED YESTERDAY to have 3.5 star rating with over 50 reviews!!! I would go to Ara often but after seeing what she did I refuse to go to her anymore. Shameful. Please start carrying oat milk so I can start coming here more frequently because so far this is my new favorite...

Caffe Barbaro Napoli is a charming addition to Rutherford, NJ, offering an inviting atmosphere and lovely outdoor seating. Perfect for a relaxed afternoon, my spouse, best friend, and our puppy enjoyed refreshing drinks, including a delightful pomegranate iced tea and a classic café Americano.

We sampled the Roast Beef sandwich, a perfectly seasoned grilled chicken sandwich, and a creamy avocado toast—each dish showcased quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation.

The service was exceptional, with our server bringing positive energy to our experience. The real Napoli espresso is a must-try; one sip truly transports you to Italy.
