Let me start by saying that I will continue to support this small business and I did enjoy the food, but as an honest person, I feel I must review the entire experience.
The first time I ordered from here was on Uber Eats. I got there about 20-25 minutes after I placed the order- which the app had said 15 minutes so I was worried that the food would have been sitting there. When I arrived, it looked like they never even saw that an order has been placed, as they had to go onto the Uber tablet and print out a ticket for the kitchen. I understand Uber has its issues so they told me they would make the food right away. I got my order and went home. Upon opening the package, I realized that there were no chips included in my chips and guac. Unfortunately, we had to throw out the guacamole because we had nothing to eat it with and we were not going to eat it by the spoonful. Besides that, the food was amazing and fresh. It tasted genuine and authentic. Because of the missing item, I called the restaurant and the manager apologized, was very helpful and understanding, and offered me free nachos the next time I ordered.
Then, this week, I place a pick up order this time by phone. I explain that there was a situation with Uber and we were told we would get free nachos. We also ordered other food. My partner arrived and explained that she was there to pick up my order. She paid for our food and walked out and realized she was charged for the nachos. She went back in and explained that we were told the nachos would be free of charge to which the cashier was rude and responded with ‘Well how was I supposed to know?’. When she got home, we were excited to try the food as the last time everything was delicious. This time around, the toppings on the nachos were amazing and fresh, but the chips were awfully stale.
Not sure how to rate my review. I did enjoy the food very much but it seems like the experience is a hit or miss. I probably will order again as the ingredients are fresh and the food is flavorful- but definitely not as often as I was...
Read moreEAT HERE NOW. We’ve tried this place twice, once seated outside and once delivered via DoorDash. Both times it did not disappoint It was VERY good, that’s why we ordered it at home the same week! I wish they had delivery service. Very fairly priced, for the quality they are serving. Also the service was good, everyone was nice. Great spot to grab a casual lunch or dinner— good for families or a date night.
What we had: Al Pastor Pineapple Tacos— Amazing! It has a pleasant kick to it, it’s flavorful and crave-able. One suggestion, alittle more pineapple please! 💙 I had this as both tacos and a bowl. The bowl could have used a better base of rice, but hey… I am nitpicking because I wanted more.
Birria Tacos— Tender, tasty, not soggy, consumme was 👌🏼.
Chicken Tostadas— DAMN. These were on the money. We got it via DoorDash and they were still crispy. Probably my favorite thing we’ve tried so far. Everything about them, their toppings… mmmmm mmmm mmm.
Carne Asada Burrito— Steak was flavorful and tender. Rice and beans are tasty and also a good texture. Decent size burrito, I would say medium size.
Guacamole— This was not very good via DoorDash. The avocados were brown and overripe. The chips were also stale. Maybe when packaged to go it didn’t travel well? Maybe it got warm? Not sure what happened… but this wouldn’t stop us from ordering it again.
A MUST TRY spot in Rutherford. I hope it’s around for many many many years. Welcome to town!
(PS—3 tacos a plate… we each ate one before I remembered to take a photo because they...
Read moreI’ll start with the Positives: the place is friendly and looks clean. However the Negatives outweigh those tenfold: My Son ordered Chicken Quesadillas. He tried to eat one but was literally choking on the disgusting cheese on it. It’s like a Mozzarella substitute, mixed with Elmers Glue. I tried a piece and it was like chewing gum. I couldn’t swallow it yet the cook puts copious amounts of this vile white rubbery cheese on each one. I brought the plate back in and said “look! Look how much cheese. It’s way way too much. Please make another plate with NO CHEESE AT ALL”. They seemed embarrassed at the counter but the feisty older lady they have cooking them was visibly angry about it. They brought out another portion and guess what? Still way too much cheese! So their trick is: use loads of this imposter rubber cheese so they can skimp on the meat. The pictures below are of the first plate and the picture on the black plate is the leftovers at home proving my request of “NO cheese” was blatantly ignored. They also blast obnoxiously loud music that kept skipping. I mentioned it that the music was skipping and they didn’t seem to understand. On top of ALL that my food (Vegetarian Bowl was soggy & bland) was mediocre at best and the guacamole was clearly bought last minute at ShopRite. Horrific and WAY overpriced. They won’t last long. Mark my...
