18 Grams Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Sacramento

So I came here on a study date with my friend last week. The service was fine, nothing that stuck out nor mentioning, the atmosphere was mediocre as it was packed and loud, though I'm aware that's out of the establishment's control, just wasn't so enjoyable as like I said before, we were trying to study. I'm writing to talk about the awful matcha they serve. I ordered a standard matcha latte, no addons but light ice. The drinks were served quick. However I hated the matcha latte I got. My 7$ latte was served in a cup definitely not big enough to be priced at 7$. My drink - despite ordered to be light iced - was mainly ice. It felt like I was served a cup of ice with a side of matcha lol.. I took a sip and I was really disappointed. I couldn't taste the matcha at all. Me and my friend, agreed that it tasted like vanilla and milk more than anything and that I should ask for my drink to be remade. I told the cashier my issues with the latte, she was nice and was willing to remake for me. But when I received my new matcha latte, there was a noticeable amount of the drink that was gone for some reason ??? By looking at the cup the latte was about half an inch away from touching the rim of the cup. Even then, there wasn't much of a change to the flavor. But I didn't want to bother by requesting for my drink to be made again, especially with the packed environment. I think out of all the matcha lattes I've tried around Sac, this was the worst. I went back to the outside seating area where my friend informed me she didn't like her chai latte either, that it had no flavor, and that the Wi-Fi wasn't working for her so we couldn't even study. Not sure if it was just because we were in their outdoor seating area, but either way we couldn't go back inside to study because every seat was taken. We were just really disappointed with the experience and we switched locations afterwards. She ended up throwing her drink away though she barely drank it. It kind of baffles me how both these drinks together costed me 15.20$ total. Sad to say that I don't think I'd order from...

Update 07/11/2025 I won’t be back and now that I’ve thought about it the ladies in the front never have been personable and I noticed they are even less personable to people of color. They do have one staff but she is bullied often. I never got a resolution from the owner Justine I reached out to her I did want to share and amazing alternative near by. Their coffee is actually better than 18 grams I was shocked a their prices are so very fair I definitely won’t be back at this place. I'm sharing this hidden gem as there's no one here. Finjan Coffee is its name, and I know many people are criticizing Starbucks due to Palestine. They support local community efforts as well as initiatives abroad in Palestine. Their menu includes Dubai cheesecake and exceptional coffee! I recently had to find a new place to get my morning coffee due to racism, and this place resonates with me. One star is for the coffee but, I frequent this place and it was great until today. I was paying for my Oder and I told the cashier not once but twice that it’s a swipe card. She proceeded to insist on me tapping, so I swiped the card for her. I had the same issue the previous day and I’d normally go to the kiosk to Oder but it is broken. The manager came up to me and was like “no you can’t do that” if the staff are going to act incompetent and as if the don’t know how to swipe a debit card I don’t mind helping them. Pros

1. plenty of parking! Easy to find parking.
2. lots of other restaurants, desserts, and other stores to shop after your eating or before eating.
3. You walk in and there is a menu right at the front door. There's also another menu as you walk up to the cashier to order.
4. they have drinks and foods to order.
5. seating is 1st come 1st serve.
6. there's outside seating as well.
7. there's only 1 bathroom, with one stall for both men and women. You just gotta lock the door.
8. our drinks were all great. Coffee and Matcha Strawberry drink.
9. all of our foods from here are yummy. I had the Locomoco for $16.30. That sauce in the bowl was delicious! Made me want to eat all my rice. Lol. But I disciplined myself and didn't eat all the rice. But everything was very good.
10. we were able to grab a table inside. They don't rush you out. It was nice being able to sit in there and catch up.
11. this is not a normal restaurant. So don't expect to have someone come to your table checking up on you. They don't. You'd have to go up and get the things you need.
