Hot Off The Griddle — Restaurant in Sacramento

I have to say and all I can say is whisky tango foxtrot! Three or four strikes on this my second visit. I thought I would take my wife to a nice place I had gone to a few weeks before.

I know they are doing their best, but really 3-4 strikes in one visit?

Here is the run down. I we ordered and then I remembered as he was walking away from the table that we wanted our potatoes crispy. I follow him, get his attention and tell him.

The food shows up - the potatoes look even undercooked from what I can see (STRIKE 1). I let the person dropping off the food know that they are to be crispy. She takes both plates back to the kitchen. Now, many minutes later of course, they bring back the plates with crispy potatoes. NICE. However the chicken fried stake is at best warm (STRIKE 2). I then notice my eggs are scrambled, not what I ordered (STRIKE 3). I wait and wait for my eggs. I finally get the young man's attention. He could not comprehend what he had happened with the order (STRIKE 4). He now brings my eggs cooked how I ordered them and they are again at best warm (STRIKE 5).

It gets better... He now brings the bill and informs me he is not charging me for the eggs. Whisky Tango Foxtrot! NOW I'M DONE (STRIKE 6).

And the grand finale - the system appears to not be taking credit cards... I PAID CASH AND LEFT - STRIKE 7.

YES - everyone has an off day. This was a tragedy.

Here is the twist - I will return...

Absolutely Disappointing Experience

Came into Hot Off the Griddle with decent hopes, but they were quickly crushed. We sat down and ordered immediately, then waited over 40 minutes without receiving any food. During that time, three tables seated after us got their meals, ate, and left.

We had to ask three different people what was going on before someone finally told us the kitchen had messed up the breakfast burrito — they added salsa, even though it was clearly ordered without it. So they had to remake it. No one informed us until we pushed for answers.

Meanwhile, I had to ask several times just to get coffee. When I finally went to speak to the manager, she brushed it off and said she needed to "talk to the server" — no apology or accountability.

The food came out over 45 minutes after ordering, and the bacon arrived a full hour later. Everything was lukewarm and poor in quality — not worth the wait or the price.

Extremely disappointing experience. I won’t be returning, and I hope they take serious steps to improve service and communication. They contacted owner he was useless .. Tip don’t spend your money in this establishment! Despite this HORRIBLE experience we tipped over $ 100 dollars hopefully the server will go find a job where customer experience and service...

I LOVED IT! WOW, breakfast done right. I had the XL chicken fried steak and could only eat half of it! The restaurant had a fast casual feel to it, down to earth with good spacing on all the tables. The front of the place was all windows so it allowed light into the restaurant. But… The best part… wait for it…. The Food!! OMG the food is 100% legit. I absolutely loved the food. It was hot and fresh. I was so surprised at the quality of the food! My waitress this morning was fast and friendly. She explained to the Mimosa flavors. Yes…over 30flavors of Mimosas. They actually have a single page double sided dedicated to fun Mimosa flavors!!! I Loved it! Did I mention how awesome my waitress was!! Wow, what great l, friendly service! The only down side to this place is the dated men’s restroom. It is definitely in need of an update and a little love. Don’t get me wrong it was clean and stocked but definitely not the focus of this restaurant. I am going to add this place into my top 10 breakfast restaurants for sure. Definitely a most visit for the greater Sacramento Area. Tell them John the Nurse...
