I enjoy shopping here they usually have everything that you're looking for, all of the employees are very kind, helpful, polite, understanding, & considerate This is the place I usually head to first. I sometimes get dropped off at this Raleys Bel Air after my doctor appointment. I end up always buying more than I can carry home. The store employees will allow me to leave some of the items that I have purchased, because I can't carry everything home at once. They're also very good at keeping an eye on the items that I have to leave there. Sometimes by the time I get home with the items that I have to carry, I'm too tired to return to the store. I have been able to call them, & they'll allow me to leave my items there until sometime the next day. The next day I'll bring what I call my Old Ladies Crate, it's a wire square crate with 4 wheels on it. When I get there the employees will get the items that I left in the store the day before for me. Everything is always put inside a cart all together for me. I'll unload the cart of my items into my Old Ladies Crate, & head home. Lately since COVID-19 the employees have seemed to lose their kindness, care, & consideration. They're so fed up with having to allow thieves to walk away from the store without even paying for the items that they have picked up. As for the police, they can't really do anything about it either. Because their hands are tied due to fear of the implications of harassment or anything else. Raleys has lost a lot of money due to the thieves stealing from them. The prices are going up considerably more because they have to make up for the loss of the products being stolen. Raleys is not the only store that has to do this, because of thieves. Walmart, Safeway, etc.... Are having to do it also. But the responsible people that are actually paying for the products are suffering through the cost of everything. Having to cut one thing or another since everything has gone up, because of the thieves. It's a really sad thing that we're the ones that have to pay for the loss...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went into the store today to buy drinks and a couple of sandwiches from the deli and then some sizzling wok combos. When I asked the young lady to make my sandwich and she was doing fine at first then started rubbing an empty bottle of mustard on my sandwich scraping the mayonnaise off then I asked her to please cut my sandwich all the way and she ripped it. So I asked someone else to make the second sandwich for me because I didn't know what was going on that it was just ok to do this for that person working behind the counter. So the next girl decided to talk and talk and in stead of asking me before putting mayonnaise on the second sandwich, put the Mayo without asking them had the nerves to say I wasn't going to be satisfied with anything after she did something she wasn't supposed to. So she gets a manager, the manager in the deli area starts talking over me then after interrupting me over and over again tells me that she just can't help me, and that she was supposed to be off thirty minutes ago. Then I went to the front end of the store and at this point in time I could barely stand up because I have back problems. The young man working the register was really helpful and called the manager and she helped me and walked with me to get my shopping accomplished and I was grateful that she the manager and the guy working the register were on top of things and professional. However no one should ever feel bullied by someone their buying a product from. And that's what deli/bakery did and their manager in deli and bakery seemed as though she expects her employees to behave this way unlike the manager that I spoke with that was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was only in and out. That's all it took.
Father's Day, 3pm. My dad says he wants donuts at the last minute. Its his day, so my sister and I drive around looking for donut shops.
Of course, it's a Sunday AND a holiday, so everyone is closing early. Finally, sister and I are nearby. It's 3:45 and we found a shop that Google says is open until 4. We arrive. Closed.
Bel Air is next door.
We struck out at Raley's with merely a single lone donut sitting sadly on the shelf. A maple bar. Nope. Not for my dad. Perhaps Bel Air will leave us with more luck.
We enter and for a sweet moment we think we have found salvation. Right by the door! So many donuts. Yes. Finally!
Except.
The doors to the case where the donuts are stored is WIDE OPEN, while the bakers mill about behind the counters, attending their duties. Okay, fine. No big deal right? At this point I barely care. Stale donuts? So what if it's a holiday and my dad deserves the best? I doubt a helping of stale donuts will ruin an otherwise perfectly enjoyable father's day. Will it? He'll survive. Besides there's always next year.
Then it dawns on us.
We've literally been in this store for 5 seconds. The front door is a mere feet away, opening and closing automatically as patrons enter the store or simply walk by too closely.
How long has the door to the shelf of donuts been open?
My, it's a hot day. So many insects love buzzing about in search of treats on days like this. Looking for something tasty to eat. Tasty like... donuts.
My sister and I meet eyes, then sigh in disappointed unison before wordlessly leaving the store.
Our...
