Panaderia La Jerezana — Restaurant in Sacramento

2nd time trying this place....Looks are deceiving but tastes are truthful!!! I have NO IDEA how this place keeps open.. Service is ok, they have a variety of products from Mexico in the store, their bread & cake is Horrible! As a Mexican I can tell you the bread is NOT made daily nor is it fresh, it's hard and dry. The Tres Leches cake is a great deception, there's no flavor, nor is it moist plus the whip cream is very cheap. I have better suggestions for you all local people who only go there because it's close. If you want GOOD Mexican bread, go to Esperanza Bakery on Franklin Blvd in Sacramento, they have flavor in every bite and its Fresh and soft. If you want GOOD tres leches cake order from Safeway on Laguna Blvd in Elk Grove, their cake bakers are Mexican & trust me you'll LOVE IT! Take my word...

In a town where good pan dulce is hard to find, this place has the number one spot as the worst. While some of the pieces have a good flavor, the consistency is just dry, hard and chalky. Some pieces, like the orejas, just taste like sugar. Not even a little canelita. I dont want to hate on my Mexican Paisanos and I want to support our Raza but I seriously feel that they need to step their game up. Especially when the competition is barely passing the standard for descent pan dulce. I think that if they increase quality control and check for freshness daily, it can help to have people buy on a regular basis. Lots of reviewers are complaining of stale bread quality, start there. If you guys need marketing done, let me know....

Went in Sunday for pan dulce. portions are smaller than other panaderias and the pan dulce is hard and old. Even the donuts are hard and old. The lady quickly places the bread in the bag so you don't see what your getting till it's too late. My boys and I took a bite of each bread and donut and that was it-all went to the garbage can. My boys were disappointed they love pan dulce. They couldn't believe a bakery would sell hard, stale old bread and donuts like that. Not going back nor can I recommend this place. I think the people who order large quantities of pan dulce are the ones getting the fresh pan and the rest of us get old...
