I originally was just going to Jamba Juice, but this spot was right next door and the pictures of food they offered intrigued me enough to step inside. Also, they offer a $1.50 combo discount for students with a valid ID. primarily aimed at college students, (Sacramento State University is less than a mile away;) Very large menu. I was pleasantly surprised. American and European tastes. I chose the Philly Cheese Steak Pita sandwich. Asked to taste their chipotle sauce and decided to not have it on. The employee was extremely helpful and suggested I look at their sauces list, which wasn't up on the main board behind the counter, but kind of small label on the bar in front of the glass between me and their preparation table. the set-up is similar to Subway, where you can see the ingredients and add or subtract items. I didn't see anything indicating it would cost extra if I added something, and after looking at the sauces asked if it would cost extra to add sour cream it was free. Took a while longer than I expected to get my sandwich but I watched her male it fresh, cooking the meat on the grill, adding the veggies to the meat at one point, preparing the pita bread by stuffing it with a generous helping of lettuce, which she added the sour cream to, everything else including the cheese was mixed in with the meat on the grill at different times during the cooking process, cheese last. then everything on the grill was scooped up and stuffed into the Pita next to the lettuce, (the Pita was lightly toasted btw;), carefully wrapped up and delivered to me as fresh as I could ask for. I then got my Jamba Juice Strawberry Surf Rider from next door and by the time I got to my car and took my first bite of the Pita it was just the perfect temperature and absolutely delicious. I am looking for a Pita Pit closer to home, and am an instant fan. I used their restroom and it was clean and well stocked. The seating area is small but very clean. There is an outdoor area with tables and sun umbrellas nearby also for lounging while you lunch. Lots of options in the area for dining, but if I ever go back I'm going back to this...
Read moreI have been frequenting the Pita Pit for many years now and I have always had a great experience along with quality food. At this point, they have memorized my many regular orders and will usually know what I want along with any sides of sauces that i get. The owners are amazing and pride themselves on providing great service and great food. The first Pita I tried and still get to this day is the Baja Chicken Pita which will always be one of my favorites. I also really like the BBQ chicken bowl, the Hula Teriyaki bowl, and the Ode to Athens bowl. They're offer a lot of menu items and they even have desserts like cookies, brownies and chocolate covered fruit. Make sure to stop by and check this place out if you are...

This location has always been a pleasant place to have a quick meal. Then bowls were added! I cannot recount the virtues of the quinoa bowl called the "Ode to Athens". I decided to try the new menu offerings and am in love with "Ode to Athens". From the fluffy, flavorful grains to the lean protein the dish is a winner. Then you get to customize your veggies to your specific tastes. Finally the best tzatziki in Sacramento brings the smooth coolness. I am going to go get...
