I live in Reno, where they unfortunately closed all the Sizzlers down. My wife and I were really looking forward to our lunch there. Everything was great at first, the hostesses and food server were welcoming and polite. We really only went for the salad bar and the food options were excellent. After ten or fifteen minutes a male Sizzler employee sat down behind us to take a break. Soon enough a Hispanic looking gentleman joined him, quickly followed by another. At first their conversation was amusing, they were talking about the theme park "California's Great America". They then proceeded to talk about various theme parks, fast passes, food passes, taking girls and dates to theme parks, etc. The whole thing became like a presentation and I thought they would begin selling park passes soon enough. They were literally directly behind us. One of the manager looking Hispanic men even had his elbow on our booth, yet they seemed completely unaware of how loud and disturbing they could be in the MIDDLE of the restaurant. I worked at Sizzler as a teenager and remember taking breaks in the back of the dining area, as to not disturb customers. These gentlemen were very entitled, unaware and fixated in their conversation to consider anyone else. My wife and I switched booths, but by that time I was already frustrated. I requested a refund from the waitress and she brought over the manager. He was one of the men talking loudly, Vereno Gamble (i believe). I told him they were really disturbing talking so loudly in my ear and had disturbed my lunch. He was so unaware of us that he didn't realize we switched booths although he had his elbow/arm leaning on our booth! He told me we were booths away from them, and I said only after we moved because you're talking so loudly! I was considering live streaming the whole thing while they were giving their theme park presentation because the whole thing was uncalled for. One of the employees even said, "I've never had to apologize for being myself". Sorry we don't all want to hear about your LIT theme park trips. They were highly unprofessional; just a group of self-centered men blabbing like they were in a locker room. The manager did refund me, but after this event I can see why so many Sizzlers have closed...
Read moreFood was cold steak and lobster. Fourth of July 2018. It was fast but cold. I mentioned it to my waitress Patty she asked if she could take it back. I thought to the microwave. Tough meat rubbery lobster, I declined. Never Again. The service was awful because Patty should have never brought out cold food. I never should have left a tip period. I thought at three in the afternoon this should be a no brainer. Between the cook the manager and the waitress Patty nobody caught this quality of service deficiency that is most likley a trend. This is a creation of management. If the restaurant, district and regional managers were competent this would have never ever happened. They are the employees that need retraining, and this needs to reflect on their performance evaluations. After a special evaluation and another probationary period of their employment. This is a management problem. They are trained to work in the Sizzler system. They need to be motivated to do their job. I think eight hours over a hot grill would be a good start. Then perhaps the rest of the stations as they work their way through the maze. Thanks again Patty. I mentioned your name so many times so people will move to another section when they see your name tag. No not a happy customer. But I love this evaluation...
Read moreSKIP, TERRIBLE OVER PRICED FOOD. NOT WORTH EVEN TRYING. $100+ spent on a $20 dollar meal you could make better at home anyyyy day of the week.
My first ever visit at a Sizzler will be my last. We weren't greeted by anyone when we walked in and had to wait for our server at the table to tell us to go back up front to order. Fine, it's our first time there, and we didn't know. So we go back and order at the front, not realizing that everything this cashier is asking us is being charged on as an add on to the meal (add ons for the potatoes, all drinks, sides for the steaks, etc.) I paid extra to have a salad from the salad bar for about $10 (ridiculously over priced) and my salad had a hair in it which ruined the entire thing. Then my meal arrived, missing almost all of the add ons we were charged extra for at the front, lol. The potatoes were drier than the Sahara desert, missing the add ons (sour cream, bacon, cheese, chives). The onions came and were definitely not any sort of fresh onions, they were a pile of gray mush. About ten minutes after our food arrived is when we got the mushrooms, which admittedly weren't terrible. The entire meal and experience left an over priced, cheap, and terrible first impression and I won't...
