cuban eddies — Restaurant in Saddle Brook

Disappointed w/the food at the Saddle Brook location. We ordered from Dumont many times in the past. Our office moved to Saddle Brook and Eddie's just opened here. I was looking forward to the great food I remembered, but it was so disappointing. I got the roasted chicken lunch that I used to always get and that definitely did not taste like it used to; I can deal with that, but then the chicken seemed a little rubbery. The beans were so bland and you definitely don't get enough to go with the rice. The tostones seemed like they were frozen, not made fresh, but weren't terrible. The beef empanada was ok, that at least had some flavor. The quality and flavor of food at this location is definitely very different than what we used to get from the Dumont location a couple years ago. Very sad because I was really looking forward to ordering from Cuban Eddie's again after our move! Maybe it's an off day. I'll try it one more time and update my review...

I know they just opened last week so I feel bad leaving a 1 star review, but I honestly can't remember the last time I actually threw away food after 1 bite. We got 2 bowls, took 1 bite each and threw them both away.

I'm giving the service the benefit of the doubt because they were training employees and they're obviously been open only a week, it took almost 30 minutes to prepare my bowl while all the ingredients are pre made you just scoop them into the bowl.

I got the chipotle chicken bowl with guacamole, I can't stress how bad this was, the chicken was slimy and grey, I took 1 bite against my judgement by just looking at it and to no surprise it tasted atrocious.

I was really hoping it was at least average as they are local and a good change from everything in the area. Unfortunately it was very much so below average there is no way we can come back. Hopefully they get some...
