My wife and I were very impressed with the flavors, portions and atmosphere at this place we only stumbled into after Googling for a new place to try some poke… and oddly, the poke itself wasn’t even the item we loved most. We started with the Jerk Pork Belly Nachos which was fresh, hot and loaded with flavor. We’re goat cheese lovers so the “whipped goat cheese” jumped off the menu at us and we think we made the right choice. We had to stop ourselves halfway full of we wouldn’t have room to even try our entrees. For entrees we had their unusual take on Poké - lots of grilled veggies and pineapple - and the “& Grits” with blackened shrimp, which was probably the standout dish of the night… Although the dessert kind of blew our minds too - coconut pineapple cheesecake 🤤 The menu here is relatively small, yet offers a lot of variety. That’s a gamble for restaurants that can’t decide what cuisine they specialize in, but these guys make it work. We were genuinely, thoroughly impressed. Not the most affordable meal, but also that expensive - priced right for what you get, in our opinion. And again, the portions are great - we had a full meal with our leftovers of all of the dishes mentioned above. We both agreed on the way home that this is a must-go place when we have company come from out of state.

First off, our waitress was friendly, attentive, and sweet. Glasses, tattoos, I believe her name was Alyx? Excellent waitress. The food was a mixed bag, but mostly pretty good. I got the hash bowl with eggs. The toast was unbuttered. Who eats unbuttered toast? But otherwise, it was quite good. The fresh avocado was nice too. My wife got the French toast with scrambled eggs. It was also good. The coffee was horrible. This is a pet peeve of mine. Restaurants try to save a nickel by making extremely weak, tasteless coffee. C’mon people, coffee isn’t expensive, throw in a few more scoops. I have to order decaf coffee due to a caffeine sensitivity, so weak decaf coffee is even worse. To get flavor out of decaf, you have to make it strong. My cup of decaf was like hot water with a slight brown tint. Terrible. Taking one star from the review for the dishwater coffee. Fix the coffee issue and butter the toast and this place would be the bomb. Pics are after we’d started eating, so it’s not an example of the plating, but it is a good look at the portion.

Had dinner here Friday night, Marc was very friendly and hustled! Fast service and the fish and chips were great. Good experience overall. Breakfast the next morning: not so much. It does not appear there is any kind of leadership keeping people motivated. Seems there was zero organization and staff not meshing well. Hostess also clearing tables? Clearly short staffed. Josephine (who was very friendly) finally came over to help us after a solid 10+ minute wait. Seemed to take a while just for two cups of coffee and an OJ. Food came out much quicker. Her omelet was quite runny with oil, she didn’t eat it. My pancakes were good until I was done and I noticed two hair under it! Served was modified and took $5 off the bill. Seems from the reviews that dinner may be the better option here.

An award winning experience.

I’ve eaten breakfast all over the world, in some of the finest hotels. But nothing compared to our breakfast experience at Santiago’s.

A slight wait to be seated, but not a problem. We were seated outside by the hostess(1).

We waited a few minutes whilst one server(2)passed us by to attend to another table. A few minutes later and another server(3) attended another table who had been seated after us.

After waiting for another few minutes I returned to the hostess, who apologized and said a server would be with us shortly.

A few minutes later, we had a server(4) to take our order. She apologized for us being overlooked and promised we would be taken care of. A few minutes later she returned with our juice and coffee. Then we never saw her again 😳

Our food did not arrive for more than 15 minutes and when it did it was delivered by another wait person(5) who shouted out “who ordered the ….” as she didn’t know which table to deliver the food to.

The food was average, not terrible, not great, a 5/10.

We never had anyone check on our food or top up our coffee. We had to ‘grab’ the attention of the hostess who was now clearing tables and topping up coffee.

When we’d finished our food we sat and waited and waited and waited. Eventually getting the attention of another server(6) to ask for our check, only to be TOLD … “I’m not your server, only your server can give you your check”. To which I replied “I don’t think anyone in the restaurant knows who our server is”. She grumbled and mumbled and then did return with our check. I decided to pay at the front desk otherwise I’m sure we would have waited for another server …. YES .. NUMBER 8 !

So what award did this restaurant deserve ? … The most incompetent service...

My family and I stayed at the resort over the weekend and ended up here several times. Saturday evening was great!! I don’t remember the bartenders name that night but she was good and kind! Then attended breakfast the next morning and waited some time to even get waited on then the serve says she was there the night before and that morning and will be again that night. Then we waited quite some time for our food (other tables arrived after us and finished before we were served our food) in which mine was cold and over cooked and we asked for extra sauce and refills which we never got so we asked the bartender, Dennis, very nice man!! After leaving we had a full day and came in the evening to order some food and grab a drink and was greeted my a bartender named Kandi, rudest person to ever serve me. She told me we were not aloud to dine in that we must order takeout and then ignored me, went into the back. Finally came to take my order and was dismissive of my son trying to order his food. Then I ordered my drink and she started to make fun of what I ordered with another couple at the bar. At one point I walked away to the front desk because I felt so unwelcome. Then after waiting some time I was advised they didn’t have what I ordered so I had to pick something different. My husband was so uncomfortable he didn’t even want to eat our meal for fear she messed with our food because of the way she treated us. Needless to say she is the reason we will not be staying there again or returning to...

We went last night for my wife’s birthday and there were 9 of us. The hostess and our server Rich were very very good. The food was spot on. Everything was perfect at our table. I’m giving only 2 stars because of the bartender. I believe her name was Kandi. I am a bartender of over 20yrs and our entire party are local service industry workers and the bartender last night was the absolute worst I’d ever seen. She was being unjustly mean to the servers and snapping at all of her coworkers. Our server was working very hard so myself and a friend decided to just go get a round of shots and drinks from the bar. I simply asked her what Tequila they carried to which she replied and I quote “I don’t have time for questions, what do you want?!” Keep in mind there were only 4 ppl at her bar all drinking glasses of wine with no food. There were also only 3 tables as it was 1 hour before closing. One of the women that was with our party went to the bar for a beer and was told by Kandi tact and again I quote “you need to order through your server” and gave her one mich ultra and nothing else. She was mean and does not belong behind a bar. I’d be embarrassed if I was management having someone behave like that as a bartender. She is the sole reason myself or anyone of us will never be back. Her attitude and clear distain for her career choice ruined the entire experience. To our server Rich, you were phenomenal and I’m sorry we won’t see u again and I’m even more sorry you’re forced to work with a...
