Isla Blends — Restaurant in Saint Augustine

Went in for a to go coffee, no other customers. The very friendly girl working there asked if we had been there before. This question always makes me want to leave immediately because it means the restaurant is unnecessarily complicated. She started telling us about all the protein drinks on the menu, and I stopped her to ask if she had plain coffee as the storefront suggests. She said, "We have protein coffee." Whatever that means. Tried it twice now. First time, no coffee available so I had a tea which was sicky sweet and weird. Second time I asked for a tea with less sweetener and it was still horribly sweet. The young man at the counter was very nice. I found it interesting that as he was helping us, the only customers in the restaurant, the owner or manager, stuck their head around the corner without a hello, a smile, wave or anything, and then just walked back to the corner to continue the meeting that she was having. I was looking forward to this place opening as there aren’t really that many good juice/smoothie/coffee options on the island. I expected freshly blended juices, fruit, and high quality ingredients as the name suggests but was sad to discover it’s basically all powdered drinks, nothing fresh. The protein shake I had was okay but didn’t taste natural and likely wasn’t. They did do a decent job with the atmosphere but that is about it....
