We went to Odd Birds last night for a cocktail before dinner at Llama. It was our third time partaking in their delicious libations. They have four distinct areas to enjoy including a nice patio, a main bar with garage door type windows that provide indoor/outdoor vibes to the patio, a dining area and a speak easy! The decor is, er, odd? But I mean that in a good way. It is far from generic or sterile and is quite comfortable. We were in the speak easy last night and it was so much fun! There is a shelf that is actually a door. It includes a separate bar and lots of seating. Picture is attached. St Augustine has an underrated craft cocktail scene and Odd Birds is amongst the very best. One of the best items on the menu is the bartender’s choice. You name your spirit of choice and the bartender will ask you a question or two. Then you let the expert work his/her craft! I chose gin (it’s what the hipsters drink!) and asked for it to be refreshing. It was so good..had a hint of ginger. My wife had Selva Madre which tasted a bit like Christmas and was served in a kitschy Christmas glass. She loved it. We have not had their food yet but we peaked at other patron’s dishes and it looked good. We plan to eat there in the future. I highly recommend Odd Birds as a place to add to your date night rotation! Just wanted to update my review. We went to Odd Birds again last night for a couple of drinks. They updated their speakeasy experience. You need to make reservations to get in…and getting in is so much fun! The hostess takes you to a secret door. Once inside, it is bartender’s call. Our bartender (I believe his name is Chris) came over and sat with us to ask us a series of questions. He came back with the most amazing cocktails for our party of 4. When you factor in ambiance, service and taste, I currently believe Oddbirds is the best bar in St Aug. this is saying a lot as there are multiple great places in St Aug. cheers to you Odd Birds!

Atmosphere: Tropical chill feeling though rock music typically playing throws it off a bit for me, but a good place to chill anyhow. Outside seating is great .. at the right season/right time of day Drinks: Autopilot was delicious, sweat enough, but with enough character to not be a fruity drink. - one drink is quite enough to have you feeling good. Rooster Fruity drink, unique to Odd Birds, a good mix for a fruity drink that did not lean too much on the fruity flavors. Hamilton Rum Not a good option to drink neat… "Port Still Black" rum must not be part of my "thing". Bartender saved it for me though. Made a great cocktail afterwards with it. Food: Arepitas: Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a great pairing sauce to go along with it… definitely a great bar bite option. Yuca: love the "chimichurri-esque" sauce with the red onions. I recommend asking for the garlic aioli Davide to go along with it. Carrot Cake: Right level of sweetness for both the cake and the frosting. The frosting was not very tart, but I like it that way personally. Though there was too much frosting for the amount of cake… I prefer a little frosting and mostly cake..like 1 to 5 or something like it. Service: Attentive, very helpful, and knowledgeable about drinks and cocktails. They fixed my neat Hamiltons 1) was made more bitter and "harder" the other "2)" had much softer edges with fruity flavors and much sweeter Final thoughts: We just wanted a spot to quickly stop by, but we stayed longer due to the hospitality and great snacks/cocktails offered. Amazing stop for "refreshments"

Customers beware! Renew your ID/license if you got a crease in it before you go here. I’m a Floridian that was a part of the ‘Crazy ID club’ and I just wanted to say that whoever is writing the responses to, not just our criticisms, but to others who had poor experiences, is incredibly inconsiderate, childish, and arrogant. It’s like Twitter. Even the four star reviews got a tinge of “mmm yeah but actually..” vibe to them. I work in the customer service business and have had my fair share of customers being wrong on many things. But never would I put myself in a position that had the attitude of “I’m better than you”. That’s how you lose good reputation. I’m all about following the rules and I appreciate a business who upholds those rules, especially a bar. But, the fact that the Florida ID was quickly looked over and accepted, versus the NC ones makes no sense to me. Only to have the manager come out and essentially say “no they’re fine” and the bartender do a full 180. I would have loved to have tried the food and the drinks. I read that there was a “Latin flare” to the menu and as someone who grew up on that diet, it would’ve been interesting. But I cannot consider visiting in the near future after the poor ‘greeting’ me and my friends got upon arriving to the bar. Although the host outside was nice. Maybe when a new staff is hired or the place finds its footing. But anyways, thanks for thinking we were all too young to be there!

The fact this place will kick you out for asking to use the BATHROOM while serving alcohol at a full capacity bar is absolutely absurd. They hosted the Megan Moroney after party and literally told people if they have to use the bathroom (which is outside) that you won't be allowed back inside the bar. How they even think in their right mind that's okay is BEYOND me. So it's okay for you to serve me alcohol with no limit but god forbid I have to pee like a human, then it's a big F YOU. Would never recommend this bar to anyone ever just for the simple fact they don't allow customers to pee.

EDIT: Odd Birds Cocktail Lounge and Kitchen I don't have a partner. But I appreciate you making the assumptions. If you know how many drinks I had then you would also know I had one drink the entire time I was there. You don't know all of your facts I see. But kind of weird to be upset that someone would drink more than one at your bar for an event that is giving you great publicity.

"If you go to the back door there is an alley where people are peeing and no one will say anything to you." That's what was said to us. We didn't even get to the door of the back alley. An off the clock employee said she knew people were going back there and it wasn't allowed and we didn't do it. There was someone who did go out the back door but I have no idea who that is- and yes, that's how badly they had to pee. So clearly we weren't the only ones. But then the bar manager proceeded to make a scene to the point where a good portion of people looked over to see what was going on as she slammed the door. I get being frustrated, but all she had to do, as you stated, is calmly ask them to leave or tell them why that isn't allowed.

I had multiple conversations with many different people there that were all upset/annoyed about the bathroom issue (without me even bringing it up). You guys are more upset about a bad review and want to call it "false" because it was handled unprofessionally. If one bad review bothers you that much, maybe take your own advice. As I had told you, if the rule was calmly explained (which it wasn't) then the whole situation could have been diffused and I would have gladly corrected my review to say it was a miscommunication on my end. You guys chose to continue - I guess that's being an adult though?

As I said in my Instagram message, thank you for the lovely...

I don't like giving bad reviews 😕 specially when I read another one where the person who responded is sarcastic. But I will do anyway. We were looking for a place to eat and this place looks amazing! The host was not nice at all, and we saw another group leaving. We want to eat there, the girl said that the wait time for outside will be 30 minutes. We agreed, but we saw a few table empties, and some still have plates. We went inside to use the restroom and for our surprise, insede were some empty tables too. When we asked her about the tables, she said they were "reserved." We wait about 15 minutes or more, and the tables were still dirty. We told the host about one of the tables, and she said she would do it. After a few mins, she decided to start cleaning, and another 2 serves came too. Our server did not introduce herself, and I guess she was tired already o heard when we asked for the table, I really don't know, but she looked like she was annoyed. We ordered a coke and a Mojito. When she came with the drinks, we were ready to order. We ordered the parrida for two. Again, the girl looked annoyed. I have to say that the taste of the foot was really good, but for the price, the quantity for 2 was small. Even though and sure the quality is one of the best, I still think it is overpriced. I asked for a side of chinichurri, and the girl never told us that it would be an extra charge for this. When we asked for the check, what a surprise 😮 $1 extra for a 2oz of chimichurri. And you said it's just one dollar. But I think that after buying a $55 plater, this extra side shouldn't be charged. By the way, the sausage in the dish was...
