In response to:
We thank you for your stay , we are so sorry for misunderstanding , there was group of few people standing at your room and next to your room and guest other side of your room was keep calling at office , we tried calling you but you did not answer call then we called other room and checked on our camera . Again we are so sorry
No that is not what happened, I tried to nicely explain to both owners that we were sleeping the entire night and they might be thinking of the room next door (who was still sleeping at the time the next morning, surprise!) The first lady wasn't completely rude but didn't believe a word I was telling her when I was explaining her it wasn't us "being ridiculous" the other night . The man up front just resorted to screaming at us while other customers were trying to check in / out. The best part is what started all of this is our passive aggressive neighbors in room 116 left their TV on full volume the next morning (assuming it was us making the noise the night before). I watched a cleaning person go into that room the next morning as I was leaving and when I came back 20 minutes later the volume was still so loud you could hear it 50 feet from the room. You would assume any normal person / business owner would turn the TV off or down. When I nicely asked someone to turn the TV in room 116 down I was immediately accused of being rude and annoying to the other guest. Who would of though the reason someone didn't answer the phone at 2am was because they were trying to sleep not because we were having a party. The hotel was quite nice but the owners put a damper on everything else. The walls are paper thin if you can't deal with that don't say here and complain to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBooked online based on location, reviews and photos. Of course price was higher for a Saturday night but I was ok with it, until we arrived and saw the place.
Old motel, remodeled some since hurricanes. Location was right on the road near the bridge. When WiFi didnāt work I tried the phone to call the desk. No ringtone. Never ended up working.
Explained to owner (the husband) that the WiFi wouldnāt work and he just kept interrupting me and cutting me off. Once I finally explained that I had the password right and he needed to reset the modem, he hung up and 5 min later the WiFi worked. Nice lady (the wife) shows up at door 10 min later and explains they had to reset box).
Later that night when I went to start the shower I noticed tons of hair in the bottom of the shower, all into the corners and the drain. Called (from my cell, room phones didnāt work) and asked if they had another room. Was told no but they would refund me. Then, the man (husband) got loud and said āthe rooms were cleaned!ā twice in a row to me. I explained that the showers were obviously skipped (gross) and he sent his wife down with a bottle of cleaner and a towel to clean the shower.
(His wife said her husband is a very nice man and easy to talk to. She said she didnāt know what his problem was. If you like being interrupted and spoken down to, this would be a great place. )
Trying to be nice (and it being 10pm) we took showers and attempted to sleep. Rooms have lights right outside window and room stays lit from that light all night. My husband had to lay towel all along the top of the curtain to try block as much light as possible.
Not somewhere I would recommend to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I booked a weekend at this motel to see nights of lights in St Augustine. We also booked 2 additional rooms next to us for family members including children. The rooms were nice and motel went through recent renovation thanks to the hurricane. Motel offers a small courtyard out front by the road with seating where a pool used to be before it was filled in. This is also the only place the motel offers a seat to sit outside and relax. All the other places provide a couple of seats outside your room. We brought a few chairs over from the courtyard and placed in front of our rooms "away from the wind and road noise" where we could just relax in front of our 3 rooms with family for a little while. It was very enjoyable relaxing in the sun enjoying time with family until later when we were standing outside of our rooms waiting for our uber ride into town, and was confronted by the manager in a very inappropriate way, insisting we were not allowed to use the chairs we brought over from the courtyard and that we were not to be hanging out in front of our rooms. It was a very busy night in St Augustine, our uber ride was canceled due to bridge traffic so we may have been outside an hour while waiting for another ride. We were also not making any noise or being disrespectful in any way during our stay. Needless to say, my wife walked over to the office and told them we won't be back and will advise others to stay away from this place. The owner/manager needs to learn to be a little more respectful and tactful with his approach to guests. And get some chairs out front of the rooms already and stop...
