I am enthralled with the Bridge of Lions! Especially the statues of lions on each end of the bridge!. It is not easy to photograph them because of the heavy traffic and minimal parking spots in this busy area. But when there's a will, there's a way! I did the best I could understand the circumstances.

Thanks to a concrete barrier, you can walk the bridge and focus on the sights without facing the risk of navigating car traffic. A walk across the bridge and back to see all four lions is about a mile, and worth every step.

The bridge gets its name from two white marble lion statues guarding the bridge on the west side. Commissioned and donated by former St. Augustine Mayor and medical doctor, Andrew Anderson, the lions are named Fiel and Firme, Faithful and Firm. They are copies of Medici lions from Florence, Italy. They are fabulous to look at in person. Put this on your list of things to see in...

It is always neat to gaze over the side of the bridge, but is always a toss up whether it is 1.) Working (I feel like every time we go there is something going on with the bridge) or 2.) Congested. There are no back up plans in place to keep the bridge moving in the event that a vehicle breaks down on the bridge or there is an accident. This bridge receives a lot of traffic, and to not have some way to quickly redirect traffic is frustrating. For example, today we were left at the mercy of oncoming traffic being gratuitous enough to stop and allow the congested traffic on our side to pass through. It took 10 minutes of waiting before someone nice enough came along. There needs to be an efficient system in place specifically for that because that bridge is heavily used and only has one...

I have always said St. Augustine, Florida is a very hard place to visit because you always want to just live the simple laid back life with every food choice all within walking distance. From fish and chips and other authentic English food fare to Minorcan, Italian, Argentinian, and Latin and many more, St. Augustine is such a culturally inclusive and socially rich city. From every walks of life and every culture there is a feeling of deep history from Haunted hotels and houses to art that should be featured in magnificent Museums to local handmade art, this city is diverse and ecletic enough for every...

The Bridge of Lions stands as a captivating landmark in St. Augustine, seamlessly connecting the Matanzas River with the vibrant downtown area. The surroundings of the bridge offer spectacular views, and I had the fortunate opportunity to capture its beauty in the serene morning, the golden hues of the evening, and the enchanting night lights. This iconic structure, the Bridge of Lions, is not only a visual delight but also holds deep historical and architectural significance within the fabric of St. Augustine. Its enduring charm contributes to the rich tapestry of this historic city.
