Speaking for just myself, there is quite a bit of variety and there was lots of room for flexibility.
It sounds silly to say, but I didn't realize it was possible to toast something so evenly and not burn it, but the texture was great. A little crunchy on the outside, stays fluffy with a hint of crisp on the inside.
I had a sriracha and jalapeno with, I believe, cheddar, and added turkey and bacon. I am jealous of myself for getting to eat it. Was a good deal with the pickles, chips and drink. The sandwich was big enough that I gave a quarter of it away to a friend and felt completely satisfied with what remained.
This might be the only place I've been that had music playing where you could actually still talk and hang out and hear yourself over it, which was lovely. Didn't play any games but they didn't distract, and it was cool to see that vibe again, especially the gigantic wall-sized Pac-Man.
Staff was friendly and not pushy and was eager to point out and explain things. Won't hesitate to bring people back or recommend if they want to do something fun or different. Heck, even if it's just me there's so much variety I might as well see how they handle all the other kinds since they managed to make something as basic as grilled cheese still interesting and...
Read moreWe came into Palm Coast to visit my parents, and in anticipation of this trip, watched a St. Augustine “attractions” video on YouTube. This place was briefly mentioned and I saw the sandwich featured, so I made a mental note. We spent the first half of our day at the Alligator Farm (being typical tourists) and came out starving. I checked google maps to see what was nearby, and what do you know, I saw Sarbez right down the street – imagine my excitement!!
The atmosphere walking in is truly impeccable. We played some well priced arcade games, had a freakin blast and stayed way longer than anticipated. Their Oprah bathroom is a must-pee and they have a fabulous selection of pinball machines.
When we were ready to order, we chatted with the woman behind the bar who was sooooooo sweet. We got the Bez sticks and they were PERFECT. The right amount of crunch, perfect amount of pesto, over all an A+ cheese bread. For sandwiches, my husband and I both ordered the Wakin’ Bacon and it was hands down the best grilled cheese, maybe the best sandwich, I’ve ever had. Double fried eggs, crispyyyyy bacon, and toasted to perfection. We were visiting from Texas and have not stopped thinking about Sarbez’s food! In my dreams, maybe a location will pop up in the Houston...
Read moreIntriguing small pub bar featuring live music, craft beers and sodas, with the broadest selection of grilled cheese sandwiches that I have ever seen. We tried "That's Why I'm Hot" (jalapeno siracha spicy) and the "Green Apple Ranger" (titles are approximate). Both were delightful, with large slices of bread, crispy, thick, and filling. There were at least 18 craft beers, and about five craft soda choices.
We visited specifically to see a YouTube sensational duo from Brooklyn, the Other Favorites. The lively, engaging 90 minute performance included folk Americana, with overtones of bluegrass and classical guitar. Superb original songs, fine harmonies, and fantastic guitar riffs.
Only suggestion would be to add more tables or at least several more chairs, because for the performance we attended, there were not enough seats for the 40 or so who paid for tickets, yet there was a large open space in the center of the room. Ok to start that way if people are dancing, but if there aren't enough seats, more chairs could be brought out, offering folks a place to enjoy the tasty food.
Well worth the drive from Jacksonville in...
