Attention to anyone who sees this review. This will be the most brutally honest review you will probably see. I am from Miami Florida where Latin foods thrive and are all over the place I come to Missouri often to visit my girlfriend and was feeling a little homesick as there are not that many Latin food places here in Missouri and the few that there is they are whatever. I stay in the St.Charles area and was craving tacos so I searched on google tacos near me and to my big surprise La Michoacana came up only a 7 minute drive from where I’m staying at I was so shocked and instantly decided to go give it a try I ordered both steak and chicken tacos and my god when I say these tacos are godlike they are godlike living in Miami we have La Michoacana restaurants all over the place they are literally everywhere and the tacos are decent but not the best the prices in Miami are the same they are here however it feels like you are paying much less for what you get the tacos for starters the restaurants in Florida only give you one small tortilla per taco and whatever meat you ordered they barley give you any meat it’s more like a snack size taco and this is every restaurant over there so I never really bothered buying from over there despite the tacos being good I felt like it isn’t worth the price for what you get however in the St Charles Michoacana you get what you pay for they give you double corn tortillas per taco and they overfill your taco with meat and all the other extra ingredients you ask for this is amazing it makes every trip so so worth it so please do yourself a favor and if you are ever in mood for genuine Mexican tacos for a very good price come here and try the tacos and as a little tip try the tacos with a Mexican coke trust me your life will be changed for the better. You will not regret coming here this taco shop is so so much better than the ones we have back home in Miami Florida and that is saying something. I hope you read this review and hopefully you try...
Read moreI went to get a Mangonada, was really looking forward to one, but I was told the machine was broken. ☹️. So I decided to try something new, the Fresas con Crema (strawberries w/cream).
Sounds pretty straightforward, but I'd never had one and was unsure if the "cream" was ice cream or whipping cream. Turns out it was neither, it was Mexican crema, which, if you don't know (I did not), is similar to sour cream in taste, but has a much higher fat content (so it's much more luscious) and is pourable.
Anyway, there were so many strawberries (I would estimate nearly 2 cups), perfectly ripe, and the "cream" was deliciously sweet and tangy. I was quite delighted with it.
I also got a piece of Flan, which was thick and creamy and really good.
The place was bright and clean, service was good, and I will definitely be back to try some of their tacos, burritos, etc! And a Mangonada, if their...
Read moreWent for lunch today and it was delicious. Tried the asada and al pastor street tacos and they were great. My wife is from Brownsville and she agrees this is like going back to the Rio Grande Valley.
One big surprise was the salsa. Most places around here have pretty weak salsa but not here. The salsa here has a strong sneaky heat and enhances, instead of covering, the flavors of the food.
My daughter got the nachos and the chips were freshy fried corn tortillas and very tasty.
Aside from the food the selection of desserts was phenomenal. So many paletas flavors we haven't seen since leaving Texas.
A definate repeat for us and highly recommend for anyone that wants to try authentic...
