Fat Boy's Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Saint Cloud

I found this location while I was in St. Cloud on business and I asked where I could get some barbecue. I arrived around 12:30 PM on a Thursday and the place was packed. I was seated at a deuce booth that had a pocket divider so that the four top booth adjacent to it would make it a six top instead. Pretty clever and it looked like it might even be handmade. Glancing around the room I can tell this place had been here for quite some time. Although I will say that everything looked clean including the carpets, this place could really use a makeover.

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries and a side of beans. I also ordered lemonade to wash it all down. My server was incredibly friendly and very efficient. The food arrived extremely fast. This particular sandwiches a 5 ounce large steamed bun sandwich, that resembled more of a "man which" and less of a traditional pulled pork one. It was tasty however, with the right amount of sauce mixed in to the meat. I got a heap of fries however they were soggy and not hot. When she came to check on me and I told her about them she immediately apologized and went to go get another batch she brought it out another huge bowl filled with fries. Second batch was extremely tasty they use crinkle cut and the second batch was cooked to perfection. You get a very small plastic ramekin with about three bites full of beans in contrast. The beans I found to be quite tasty and slightly above average. They should have a better balance in their portion size, between beans and fries in my opinion. The lemonade also seemed like it could be homemade. She served me and a to go cup which was probably due to the fact that I was wearing my work uniform. I found that to be extremely convenient and she even brought out more for me to fill up before I left. Really the only negative thing I have to say about the service is that it would've been nice for her to mention that I pay upfront. I sat in my chair for a good five or six minutes until I figured out that I needed to bring my check up to the counter to pay. Continuing the good service, the woman at the counter was very nice as well. They have Andes mints at the counter for five cents. I gave her a quarter and only took two paying it forward. Lunch with tip came to a total of $12.81. This is relatively average for barbecue lunch in Florida.

Overall I'd say that I probably visit this location again and try something else on the menu based on the great level of service I received, but the omega little work in order for me to call this anything other...

It was the fiirst time me and my fiancee ate at Fat Boys Barbecue. I must say the food here was excellent especially the bake beans. I walked into this restaurant two days ago for the first time and the place smelled of biscuits. The atmosphere was great 👍. I liked all the pictures 📷 and all the stuff this place had hanging up on the wall. I liked the fireplace. The staff here was friendly and nice. Our waiter was excellent. He was on top of everything. He got our order right. He kept asking us during our meal if we needed anything and asking how was our food. I got a cheese 🧀 burger 🍔 and fries 🍟 and side salad 🥗 and chicken 🐔 tendrrs that me and my fiancee shared and my meal tasted so good. My fiancee enjoyed his meal to. I enjoy my meal here and i enjoyed coming here i ended uo buying s t-shirt 👕 from this restaurant. What is really cool when you come in at the front entrance by the fat boys barbecue sign you see this big tall bear 🐻 made out of barrels of hay and the bear 🐻 was painted to. This tall bear 🐻 is sitting in front of the fat boys barbecue sign. Who ever made that bear 🐻 out of hay was clever and creative. You can see the bear 🐻 when you are driving 🚗 on 192 in St. Cloud, FL. As you are passing the fat boys restaurant. So if you are looking for a great restaurant and your in the mood for some smoke grill barbecue food then fat boys is the place to be. This place is not expensive at all. This place is very reasonable. I love the pigs 🐖 figurines and there is a cute pig 🐖 picture hanging on the wall by the entrance where you enter the dining area inside the restaurant. Me and my fiancee will go back again for our second time. This place does have a fat boys burger 🍔 and the fat boys burger 🍔 is 6oz but it is only served on fridays. This place has other tasty stuff on the menu. This place has chicken 🐔 and also has ribs and brisket and sandwiches and dinner combos to. This place has a good variety on their menu. Anyone looking for good BBQ in Saint Cloud look somewhere else. There’s a couple of other places that are 100 times better. Fatboys has went down hill and is not the same restaurant it use to be. 1st. The portion sizes are very small. 2nd. You can tell the meat is not fresh off the smoker cause it’s never hot. 3rd. The sides are only like warm. On top of that my girlfriend ordered the grilled chicken and the waitress brought us out a meal for her with a cold smoked quarter chicken (white meat). Well my girlfriend picked up the chicken and showed it to me saying it had bones in it. I laughed because she doesn’t eat chicken off the bone. Yeah I know crazy but to each their own. So I called the waitress over and explained to the her that the meal was wrong that she ordered a grilled chicken breast. The waitress took it saying she would have the cooks make her the grilled chicken. Okay… In my experience most restaurants don’t take the food they screwed up back. I knew something was up at that point. When I questioned the waitress about it she explained she had to show management that the cooks up the order and needs the right one. I replied, why? Does management not believe their waitresses if they tell them the order wasn’t correct? Well we found out why she really took the chicken back. The cooks pulled the breast off the bone removed the skin and smashed it on the grill and then she brought it back to the table. What restaurant does that? You could clearly tell it was the same piece of chicken. That’s straight garbage. There’s two other BBQ restaurants in Saint Cloud that blow Fatboys away. The food is always fresh and hot.
