First Watch — Restaurant in Saint Cloud

It is called FIRST WATCH, but it is LAST place I will eat:

SERVICE: The service here falls somewhere between lackluster and nonexistent. We were seated in a corner with no silverware, 2 mugs and 2 water glasses for 3 people, and a blinding radiance from the sun reflecting off of a car through a wide open window curtain opposite our placement. Our "server" quickly asked for what drinks we wanted and then she returned with coffee, water, and one soft drink...none of us ordered coffee. She took our order then I kindly asked her for cutlery, and request the curtain be closed. After waiting for over half an hour someone closed the curtain and we still had no cutlery.

When our server came back I had asked for a drink refill, and cutlery..again. It took nearly 50 minutes for our food to come - still without the proper instruments to eat it. Though I made repeated attempts to get a refill while consuming my rather bland, and quite underwhelming meal -my request for a refill went unanswered. Throughout my wait, the waitress and I made eye contact from opposite sides of the room and after repeated attempts to grab her attention I gave up. Halfway through our meal the waitress brings us the bill.

The quickest part of our service is when our friend asked for a box to put her remaining food in.. it took less than two minutes. At the front desk we went to pay and the cashier asked how our experience was. I said "underwhelming" and she smiled and said "Oh, that's good?", paid for the full bill and tip, and came home to share my experience.

THE FOOD: Meh. The scrambled eggs were runny, the avocado was not ripe, the bacon was tough and oddly chewy, the potatoes were okay, the fruit bowl was depressing, and the toast was the best part of the meal. The presentation was also quite sloppy... and that was just on my plate, not including the 2 other meals at the table which shared the same experience.

FINAL VERDICT: This is my first Google review. I have never had an experience quite like this before. I want to cut some slack because I know things can be busy in Lake Nona and she may be a new employee. I hope the growing number of dissatisfied customers will encourage this company to invest in their employees and teach to better customer service which will hopefully encourage more employee and consumer satisfaction. There are a lot of options in the area that excel in bringing quality cuisine and service. I cannot recommend First...

My family and i decided to try out this new location. We have been to First Watch Winter Park many times and enjoy the food. We visited this past Sunday 11/24 at 8:50am. We were immediately seated. It was not busy yet. We were a party of 4. My wife and 2 kids. Took a while for a server to come over. When we finally had a server ordered drinks and the donuts and bacon item (speciality). Waited an extremely long time for coffee,tea and 2 orange juices. Coffee was brought and just placed on table along with juices. I poured my own coffee. Wife never received her tea so my son went to grab a waitress. Tea was brought and we asked for water as well. Water was dropped off to table. Only had 2 water glasses so asked for 2 additional glasses and placed breakfast order. There was no half and half in the creamer bowl so had to grab someone for half and half. While waiting for breakfast several other plates of food were brought to use that were not ours? Like they were auctioning off the food? Ours finally came and my breakfast was never prepared? When questioned waitress was upset like it was my problem? At this time i mentioned we also were still waiting on the donuts and bacon that never arrived? She clearly Was frustrated at this point. Then my wife never received the breakfast potatoes and the waitress tried to claim that everything was prepared fresh and brought out when ready? I said thats great but don't you think the potatoes should have come out at the same time? Better yet tell us that it will be just a few minutes. So donuts and bacon arrive by someone else? We were half way done with breakfast at this point. Not to mention the hot sauce on the table was empty and we grabbed it off the adjacent table. At this juncture we took the bacon and donuts to go. Waitress frustrated just dropped the check off on the corner of the table and never even cleared the plates or said anything? This restaurant has a serious management and training of staff issue. After having a long day at Nemours Hospital with my son, and still has more doctor appts to go, I had a HUGE migraine! I decided to stop by first watch to eat and most definitely have some coffee hoping the caffeine would help with the migraine. I recently lost my 6 month old daughter and have been having the worst month cause her first birthday was just a few days away. I came in and was sat promptly and was struggling with the stroller I brought my son in, so a sweet employee on her way in helped and held the door for me! I love first watch and coming to first watch. This was my first time in the lake Nona location. As I was sat, I waited 10 min for anyone to bring me anything or ask if I wanted a drink. My migraine at this point was hurting so bad it was hard to hold back tears. So all I want is my coffee. I see a couple come in get sat, and they get they’re coffee and drink ASAP! I’m looking around almost desperate just so I can have my coffee. I guess I was in tears from pain and frustration one of the employees noticed and asked if I was ok. I told her about my migraine and that I just needed coffee before I ordered any food and that I was still waiting on my waitress to come by. Thank god for that kind soul to see my pain, coffee was delivered shortly after and I was able to eat and have my coffee and my son was happy with his waffles and bacon. My waitress came by as I finished packing my left overs and said the manager Compt my meal. I was floored. No one has ever done something like this for me. I felt bad that he felt he had to do so. I’m a waitress and I understand what goes on behind the scenes and how easily it can be to forget a simple task when juggling 5 different things. So I didn’t want them to think I was upset with the waitress. Thanked them and left a cash tip to my waitress. I didn’t go into first watch that day looking for a free meal. I just had a long morning on an empty stomach after working till 2am the night before. So thank you so much to the people at this location with such a good heart. I will definitely be back when I’m in the area again. Hopefully...
