BEWARE: I just talked to my parents who encountered an extremely bad customer service/owner experience at SARAPHINO'S.
They frequent there quite often and also usually talk with the owner during their visits! My dad ordered the ribs and chicken meal. My mom ordered the chicken parm and lasagna meal! My dad said his meal was okay but was very little sauce on the ribs but that wasn't the issue, he thinks that maybe they are cutting costs, which you gotta do what ya gotta do. My mom ate her chicken parm with no problem. When she went to eat her lasagna she realized that it tasted odd and asked my dad to try it. They both said it had very minimal sauce and it tasted sour. They agreed to mention it to the waitress, maybe they could re make it to fix the problem, well after speaking with my parents, she went back to the cook, came back after about 10 minutes to talk and told them that there was nothing she could do, all the while the waitress was talking to my parents the cook came out and talked to to the owner, lady and 2 guys sitting about 2 tables over. So my dad said that he'd like to talk to the cook if there was nothing the waitress could do. The cook came out and also told them there was nothing wrong the the lasagna and there was nothing he could do. So my dad asked the cook to speak to the owner, and was told by the cook that he wasn't there..... Yet my parents are usuals and know he was just sitting there 2 tables over convesating with his friends! So the owner finally came over after taking care of a delivery and raised his voice with parents as said he makes the lasagna with his own hands and that there is no way anything was wrong was wrong with it and said my mom must be sick! My dad offered to pay for half of the meal that my mom did eat and he said no you will pay for all of it because there is nothing wrong with the lasagna! He then brought up that my parents have "pulled this before about a year ago in the corner booth," at this point my dad is pretty upset and told him well you just lost good paying frequent customers! His reply as he walked away was "I don't need your business anyway!" They paid for the meals, one of which they couldn't even force down because of its taste and they left!
Not all food sent out at any restaurant is perfect, things happen, it's understandable if it is taken in to consideration and corrected! But to blame the customer and not fix it is an issue. My parents rarely complain and if they do it is because something is wrong and should be corrected. It's not to "get a deal" but to make sure they know something is alittle off! As a crafter myself who sells my products, I would hate to send something out that isn't up to par but if it slipped through the cracks I would hope that someone would reach out to let me know so I could correct it/ learn from it, so it doesn't happen again! Obviously in this case he's not concerned about the bad reputation he presented to them tonight and is pretty confident that he as the owner was correct and nothing was wrong! Well needless to say my mom is at home about 2 hours later and is literally feeling sick to her stomach!
This is posted in a few community groups aswell, and with the 90+ comments only 3 people have had a good experience.... that says ALOT! I have also been privately messaged by past waitresses and what I read is disgusting! I won't share those details to protect the identity of the waitress!
I'm not posting this to get sympathy for my parents, to them it is what it is, but instead to warn others of the issue they encountered tonight! And the way that he runs his business and treated a frequent customer is just ridiculous! I also realize that this is an Cudahy page but I'm sure some if not most of you have been there considering how long they have been...
Read moreIf I could, I would give them zero stars. Was there for dinner last night (May 22, 2012) and was seated right away. There were only 2 other tables in the restaurant at the time. The server approached the table, but stopped short by a few feet to start writing in her book. She then approached us finally and asked if we were ready to start ordering. When we ordered our drinks, they arrived a few minutes later, after the server telling us that it will just be a few more minutes on our waters. I never have had to wait for water at a restaurant before, but ok. The server wasnt aware of the menu, my mother had to guide her through the options and what goes along with dinners. When it was time to order the pizza, she seemed to be shocked at what I was ordering for on the pizza. She made comments such as that she never has heard of chicken as a topping on the pizza. When i showed her the toppings list, she would respond by saying ok. When trying to explain to her how the pizza should be topped, she didnt understand that toppings can be on only halves or the entire pizza. The "verteran" server came over, and rudely sat with us at the table. I never have been disrespected like this before, and when she was going over the server's notes, she couldn't figure it out. After explaining and drawing diagrams, she finally understood it. The chicken wings or buffalo wings turned out to be plain fried wings. The menu says mild, hot or combo. When we asked for our wings to be a combo, she responded that they were out of BBQ sauce. I commented to her that the menu dosent say anything about bbq wings, but ok. When the wings came out, they were plain, no sauce or seasoning to be found. When the veteran server walked by, we asked her if she could tell us the difference between the mild and hot wings. She responded to us, saying that she could get us a bottle of hot sauce, but since we only have a couple left, its too late. The pizza and dinner came out, and it all appeared to be correct. There was never an apology, any attempt at correcting this situation, and when we got our check, she charged us for the full price instead of the "special" price. When asked, she said that since we had modifications to the pizza, it not longer qualified as the special. I told her that all pizzas are modified to the customer's preference. After debating, she adjusted it, and told us that she was new. I have been in the F&B industry for years, and dine out regularly, but I have never seen such an unprepared individual working, and an unprofessional business. Avoid this place at all costs, go to Pick n' Save and get sauce and some pasta, it`l be a lot better than what you can get at this place. "Two...
Read moreDON'T GO HERE! This place is horrible. I had a disgusting pan pizza which was slightly worse than something I'd buy frozen. It had far too much cheese that was barely melted along with an unseasoned, doughy crust and cheap sausage. It was literally inedible and the breaded mushrooms I had as an appetizer were not very good, either. I asked the waitress if I could at least get some discount, as I couldn't finish even one slice. She then sat down and passive-aggressively asked me what I was doing in Wisconsin, as if I didn't have any business being here I told her again (I told her earlier that I had just moved here) that I'd come here for work. She gave me a funny smile, said "Okay," then went for the owner.
She called over the owner, who rudely told me that everybody loves his pizza and "What am I supposed to do if every customer came to me and said they didn't like it?" as if I'm supposed to be concerned with his profit margin or persuaded by other people's alleged enjoyment. I told him that was his business, not mine. He then told me several times to take it home because he shouldn't have to throw it in the garbage (...?). I refused, but he continued to argue with me, eventually walking off, disgusted, and said I could leave.
I was unsure of this place, given its low rating, but I made the mistake of giving it a shot, anyway. This is literally a Kitchen Nightmares episode and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There's a reason this place has such bad reviews and I should have...
