Corporate Needs to know about this! Having been a former Server and Manager for Dennys I am seriously disappointed for my experience last night! My daughter and I walked into South Main Denny's in St. George.. We got sat literally right next to another booth with about 5 people during this 6 feet social distancing pandemic.. We let the kid who was seating us know that we we're ready to order because we immediately knew what we wanted.. So he says "Ohh okay" and proceeds to take our order.. My daughter asked for the Plant based burger with whole grain rice and the american sauce on the side.. I also asked for the Plant based burger with whole grain rice and a house salad appetizer with honey mustard.. So, my daughter also asked for a ceaser salad appetizer.. After ordering we moved ourselfs to another table 6 feet apart.. When our water was finally delivered the lemons that were brought to the table looked like someone chewed the juice out of them.. So, I agreed with the kid who took our order "yeah we need some fresh lemons" so he left and brought some back.. DIDN'T GET ANY STRAWS!.. Had to ask for them.. Then about 10 minutes later a different young-dark skinned boy comes over and asked if I wanted the Veggie burger, I said "no the plant based burger".. Then he asked my daughter how she wanted her Sirlion prepared????? What??? Nobody ordered a Sirlion... So we gave him our order exactly the same again but this time I requested grilled onions... Still no salads, so I asked the female server (who was there) if she could get our salads.. Someone brought our food and left.. 2 plant based burgers and one side of whole grain rice on my daughter's plate.. My daughter asked me "where's your rice?" I replied "that's what I was wondering".. I had to ask for grilled onions, again... Still no salads either, so I got up to go to the counter to ask for Tabasco sauce and my rice.. Finally the girl had our salads ready but by that time I just gave up thinking we were going to get them.. So at that point I was like I ain't even going to pay for an appetizer that I got for dessert after asking 3 times.. The whole time I was patient and nice to whoever showed us the time-of-day because we didn't know who our server was.. So, finally we ate and the dark skinned boy asked us if we were ready for the bill.. I kindly replied "Yes, thank you but I'm not paying for those salads because we had to ask for it 3 times".. The boy goes to notify the manager Mike in the back and the boy returns and says "I'm sorry, I'm just the messenger but he said since you ate it, you pay for it".. My daughter freaked out by the response and replied "Oh hell no, get that manager out here".. He comes out and I explained our whole experience yet he stands his ground reluctantly and angerly about not removing the salads.. I told him I'm not paying for the salads.. I put $25 on the table and left.. That was still at least $2 for whoever it was that didn't serve us. Sad thing was there was only 3 tables in the restaurant so I couldn't quite understand how our service could have been SOOO BAD AND HOW THEY IGNORED THE 6 FOOT SOCIAL DISTANCE GOVERMENT RULE IN PLACE.. If they at least showed us some decent service I would have left a fat tip instead of this nasty review. Terrible Service! Terrible Manager! I've never been so...
Read moreI wish I could give it lower than 1 star. This was the absolute worst experience we have ever had ANYWHERE. Where to begin. We were with some family for a fun family night and wanted to go somewhere for dinner together. We’ve always had a good experience here and it’s kid friendly so we chose Denny’s on Main Street. It was the wrong choice. When we got there, there was only 2 maybe 3 couples in the whole place. So we all thought “awesome! We came at a slow time it shouldn’t take too long to our food” because we had kids. We were very very wrong. Like I said, it was very slow and from the time we got there to the time we left was almost 2 hours! And it never got busy. At one point we were the only people in the whole place. We had been there for probably 45 minutes before the waitress even took our order, and then from the time we ordered to the time we finally got our food was almost an hour. And now let’s talk about the service and the food. Our waitress was nowhere to be found for the majority of the time we were there. 2 of the kids we had are 2 1/2 and 2 and they were absolutely starving. My poor little boy kept asking if we could leave because he just wanted food. Mind you, we ordered Mac and cheese for the little ones, it doesn’t take an hour to make Mac and cheese and banana slices. The poor kids were so hungry. So by the time we finally got our food, the disaster just got worse. Everything was cold. Not just not hot, it wasn’t even warm. One of my nephews pancakes were black burnt on the bottom, and my other nephews pancakes were raw. My supposed to be hot chicken sandwich was completely cold, the bottom bun was wet and soggy and the cheese on it was hard like it had been left out over night. Oh and my poor boys Mac and cheese, simple Mac and cheese was cold and clumpy like it had been left out for hours. He was so excited when he finally got his food and then couldn’t even eat it. I am honestly sick that we even had to pay for this horrible horrible experience. We will never return and we will make sure that everyone we know, knows what an awful, horrible...
Read moreMy experience at Denny's was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. PERIOD. If I had a chance to not leave a single star, I wouldn't give them anything. Usually Denny's is a good place and I've gone often. I'm not leaving this review for the food, but the horrible excuse for employees that "served" us. It started with them sitting us down, coming back 20 minutes later asking us what we wanted to drink. You could tell none of them even tried to look like they enjoyed the customer. After that, they came back asking for our order. It was a simple order: one hamburger. There were a total of 10 customers in the restaurant, at the most, and yet, they made us wait for TWO HOURS. That's NOT a joke. Literally two hours. I kept going up trying to politely tell them we had to go and they kept saying "just 5 more minutes. I... think your food will be with the next batch. " They literally served the rest of the entire restaurant including desert before they even refilled our water glasses. After 2 hours of sitting there listening to the waitresses and specifically one with blonde hair (nothing against blondes. My wife's a blonde and I love her dearly)I just heard nothing but them talking badly about the local religion and bad mouthing people the entire time, I couldn't take it anymore. They had no reason to be so lousy to us and make us feel like there was absolutely no reason to keep coming back here. I walked out without saying a word cause I figured there was no reason to negotiate with employees that were so foul mannered. I know how it is in the food industry. I know it's hard and no one likes a customer complaining about everything, and I never liked that either. But when there isn't a single good thing to talk about, you have no choice. If I was the manager, I'd fire them all and start completely fresh with new employees that treat their customers like human beings instead of the scum...
