Stay away — unless you love reheated leftovers straight from the can. The food here is horrible, tasteless, not fresh and clearly NOT homemade. I decided to eat here with my family late because it was one of the few places open. And we were starving hungry after a day of hiking. Big mistake. My wife ordered the carne asada— which you can see from the pictures looks like chopped dog food. Not only did it take a long time from ordering until the food showed up, but on top of that all three of our plates were lukewarm, and obviously reheated (badly) via microwave. I ordered the carne asada burrito with enchilada sauce. I received the same dry, tasteless, barely warm chopped dog food meat covered by what was CLEARLY enchilada sauce from a can. The guacamole was runny, flavorless and puréed to the consistency of baby food. As anyone who has ever had REAL guacamole (think Chipotle), this was a pathetic excuse for guacamole. By the miserable quality of the guac I’m guessing it was straight from a restaurant depot bag. And they have the guts to charge for this? Shame! I can’t understand how they stay in business servicing this food. None of us could eat our meals— not a bite of it. We walked in starving, and 45 minutes later walked out starving... and you know it is bad if you’ve been out hiking in this desert heat with no food for over 6 hours and you can’t eat your meal. Just stay away. On the plus side — our waitress was prompt, courteous, apologetic (even though bad food was not her fault). I wish google would allow users to post ratings with zero stars. Pancho and Lefty’s...
Read moreWhat can I say, my family and I stopped in hoping for some good mexican food. We liked the catchy name and figured it would be an authentic place to go. It was a Saturday night and there were only 2 tables occupied. That should have been our warning. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who brought out chips and salsa. As soon as I tasted it both my son and I said at the same time "this tastes like Pace picante sauce" yes, the kind they sell at Costco. It was definitely not homemade. I ordered 2 chicken tacos (crunchy) with rice and beans, my son ordered chicken fajitas ($17). I was expecting a piping hot deep fried taco shell but instead it was a premade shell with pulverized chicken similar to what you find in a baby food jar. It had a few pieces of lettuce and a sparse amount of cheese. The rice and beans were a joke. It was maybe a 1/2 cup full of each and was NOT fresh. My sons fajitas came with only 5 half strips of chicken the rest was onions and peppers for $17 ! The server felt so bad she brought out another set of chicken (5 very small strips). The only good part of the meal was the nice server and the plans that we made to stop at Culvers on the way home because we left hungry. Taco Bell would have done a better job and would have...
Read moreWill not return to P&L! Have been loyal clientele for many years, but our last visit was a total fiasco. After speaking with the manager post dining experience, it was obvious that he did not care about our many frustrations. He offered nothing but excuses - like it was our problem. Wow! Here are a few examples of our experience (a party of 11, 6 adults/5 children): 1) seated at 7:05, food finally arrived at 8:10 (the kids were restless and hungry) and it was cold and soggy and very unappetizing 2) other families that came in way after us ate and left while we still waited for our food, 3) we ordered cheese quesadillas for two younger children and the server brought out cheese enchiladas, insisting that is what we ordered after telling her we specifically asked for quesadillas, 4) margaritas two in our party ordered came out nearly straight tequila with ice and they had to send them back, 5) the food quality was substandard. It was an unpleasant dining experience with no accountability from the management or staff. Needless to say, our poor experience confirmed that P&L is sadly not the restaurant we used to enjoy - and...
