Easily the best pastries in the St George area. I can not stop going in. The store is new, yes it has paper menus on the walls and a simple feel, but that is because all the attention is on the delicacies that are cranked out of the immaculately clean kitchen DAILY. The eclairs have a slight crunch that gives to a cool creamy center and a hint of subtle chocolatey goodness. The bear claws are light and buttery, crunchy and full of almond deliciousness. The croque monsieur melts in your mouth with a cheesey crunch and smooth bechemel goodness. See, your mouth is watering.....go get some.
Edit: Been a while and I have since moved out of St. George. I miss this place. I have dreams about it and my wife says that I should start talking to someone. She made me sign up for a "pastry pack away" camp to let go of my addiction. I bailed, drove to Geezey and came here to visit Mitch and get some eclairs. The menu is getting better always, the staff has grown and the food is just as good as always. Go in and try something, preferably in the morning before it...
Read moreWhoa! The lady who works here has a really hard time understanding and speaking English. You need lots of patience and kindness when ordering. The man is nice but stresses out easy.
We had the eclairs. It was okay. Prefer 100% custard, it was combo custard and cream. They made espresso coffees but only two syrups to choose from, vanilla or hazel nut. Tough time ordering that. And they serve it in styrofoam 🙄. My hazelnut latte had too much foam, was bitter and very watery. Did she make a cappuccino???? 🤦♀️
Small venue. Not much ambience. I gave three stars for trying but hated my latte. Left unsatisfied and without asking for a redo or even complaining because didn’t want to deal with the communication issue. Husband didn’t like his plain latte either. Tasted like a poorly made cappuccino. Personally I do drink cappuccino often but We Didn’t ask for that today. She needs espresso school.
Went straight to Starbucks afterward for a chai latte. Perfect...
Read moreWhat a great find! I happened to meet a person on the Navajo Walk trail at Bryce Canyon. We got talking trails, where we were from etc and when my new friend heard that I was traveling through St George when I was journeying home, he urged me to visit The French Bakery. Micky Sampson is a 5 star executive chef who, after a long and successful career, being trained by the best in the business and gaining experience all over the world, he and his lovely wife decided to return to Micky's home in Utah and open this gem of a bakery. French inspired, wordly tastes, and kind, efficient and friendly service (Shout out to my server, James! You ROCK!). The pastries were great, the sandwiches looked amazing, and the Vietnamese coffee dark, rich, smooth and addictive. The owner chef came out to greet us and was so engaging! Don't miss this opportunity to meet these great people and enjoy their...
