I am so disappointed in The Wagon Wheel. I have been ordering here once a week for like a year. Today I did a door dash to go order and there was a miscommunication for the to go order and so they couldn't talk to my husband who I sent in with his mask. He came out and said they needed me. I was in the car waiting and I realized I did not have my mask so I said to him I could not go in. He said they needed me to so I had to. I went in without it and tried to stand at the door and say hey there is a miscommunication about the to go order but I don't have my mask. Can you please bring the to go order out. The lady inside started yelling at me and being really disrespectful. Eventually she came out and had the food. I tried to explain that I was trying to be respectful by not going into the building without a mask but I didn't know what else to do since they wouldn't solve the mix up with my husband. She went to hand me my order and continued yelling at me about the mask thing even after I said I wasn't intending to come in without it and it was a mix up. I finally got tired of her screaming at me and asked what the effing problem was and at that point she tried to tug the bag out of my hand and say "maybe I won't give that to you" and I was like I paid for it what are you talking about? Then I asked for the manager because the situation was obviously not being resolved. They refused to send out the owner but another lady who claimed to be related to the owner came out and said I was the one in the wrong and that it was me that tried to yank the food out of the ladies hand. I did not and I tried to explain the situation and she refused to hear it and told me not to come back and to dispute with door dash if I was mad. I was so confused about the hostile treatment because I legit was not intending to go in their business without a mask and I sent my husband in for that reason. I have no idea what their issue is but apparently they can treat customers like garbage and management will back it up even when the customer explains what happened and its clear there was a misunderstanding. And no I did not know there was a miscommunication in the beginning. I found out when my husband came out and told me they accused him of trying to steal the order and that they were demanding to physically see me and my phone as proof that it belonged to us. Miscommunication is actually the nice way to put it because what really happened is they accused my husband of being a thief and acted biligerent toward him too and supposedly they needed me to clear things up. Well, they actually just wanted to act biligerent toward me to. I don't know if the waitress had fallen on hard times and just wanted the order or what because she was pretty adament that she didn't want to give it to us. That became even more clear when she said to me "maybe I just won't give this to you" even after I proved it was mine. Honestly if that was the case I would have let her have the food. The complete freak out was not necassary.
THIS ISSUE IS NOT ABOUT THE MASK. IT IS ABOUT THE EMPLOYEE IMMEDIATELY BECOMING BILIGERENT AND SCREAMING AND MAKING THREATS AND BORDERLINE SHOVING ME AND MANAGEMENT PRETENDING LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED AND THAT THE EMPLOYEE WAS JUSTIFIED. THEY HAVE ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE ETIQUETTE AND CANNOT COMMUNICATE IN A TACTFUL MANNER. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE REGARDLESS OF THE PANDEMIC. THAT EMPLOYEE HONESTLY SHOULD BE FIRED. IF THE MANAGER HADN'T COME OUT SHE LIKELY WOULD HAVE TRIED TO PUT HANDS ON ME WITH THE WAY SHE WAS ACTING. SHES A DANGER TO THE RESTAURANT AND A MAJOR LIABILITY. ANYONE WHO MAKES THREATS AND BORDERLINE SHOVES A CUSTOMER NEEDS BE IMMEDIATELY REPRIMANDED. HAD SHE SUCCEEDED IN DOING SO I WOULD BE PRESSING CHARGES. IF YOU STILL CHOOSE TO FREQUENT THIS RESTAURANT I HIGHLY SUGGEST VIDEO RECORDING YOUR ENTIRE VISIT FOR...
Read moreI have been a customer of Wagon Wheel, even at their first location in Leeds Utah, then in St George. We came back to visit and they are now in Washington. I brought family and now friends to experience the food. We arrived and found that this new location was really small, like their first Leeds location. The waitress, who also had the waiting list, to put down names, refused to take our names. I stood there for 10 minutes and she waited to seat other people before acknowledging us. She then asked if anyone needed to put down their name. I said I do, and she again didn’t acknowledge me who was the only one standing, and asked my family sitting down if they got their names down. I said we are all in the same group, and we have two groups of 6, seeing that the seating was limited. She said it will be an hour and a half wait, and started making rude comments about having such a large group. I said what about three groups of 4, to be more accommodating, and seeing there were two tables of 4 open, and we would only need one more table. She said it will still be an hour and acted like she didn’t want us to eat there. We decided not to wait, but on our way out, this waitress started making rude comments to customers about us having such a large group. She was acting like we were putting her out and why would we bring this many people. This behavior by this waitress, was very unprofessional, and is not the way to keep customers. I hope this waitress is not the only help, and that her attitude is not reflected by all the staff and management. I decided to not be upset, but to leave a review to let people know how badly we were treated. With this experience I won’t be returning to wagon wheel, and would advise against anyone going to this restaurant, so they aren’t treated this way. I hope the management quickly makes changes, including re-training this waitress and any other staff that have...
Read moreFood wasn’t too bad. Prices were decent. Pretty standard diner fair. What ruined it for me was that there was a buser who seemed new, but not the new buser herself but the way the server treated the new buser. The server who I am assuming has been tasked with training the buser was exceptionally rude to the buser. Scolding her for missing an order or not clarifying “what kind of tea” the patron wanted. I’ve been in and out of the industry for over a decade and if there’s one thing I ever learned is to always treat your support staff with respect. It is super easy to help a new worker out, “hey, why don’t you write the orders down and repeat the order back to everyone to be sure the order is correct”. Not only was this behaviour abhorrent, it was done within easy earshot of the patrons and made the dining experience exceptionally uncomfortable. A server doesn’t run the restaurant, they are the face of it and without support staff would go home making minimum wage. This server seemed young but needs to be put in her place now before she build lifelong career habits like this. The bus lady was green behind the ears but was exceptionally kind throughout service and took excellent and personalised care, and was able to work effectively with this server constantly berating her.
Not here to name names, but I just got out of breakfast a few minutes ago (6/2 11:15 am), I hope management reads this and educates the server on private and teamwork so she can have a healthier mental and professional life...
