Stopped by around 7:30pm or so on Wednesday, May 22 to try some of their ice cream that seemed to have such positive reviews. We asked the young lady working if the fruit based ice creams had real fruit in them but she didn’t seem to know what the question meant so we moved on. We have younger children that can’t eat adult sized portions of ice cream so when she told me that there were two scoops of ice cream in each portion sold, I asked if we could separate those into single scoop smaller cups instead of one full serving with two scoops. She said yes, that would be no problem. So we went ahead and ordered 3 ice creams but told her to split them into 2 cups each so that we would each have smaller servings and then we ordered 2 plane waffle cones so we could all enjoy some of the cones that they make in house. When I went to pay for the ice cream the bill seemed too high... when I asked for clarification she told me that she charged me for 4 kids scoops (not even something we had discussed) and 2 adult scoops along with the 2 plane waffle cones. When I said, “so you are charging me for 2 2 scoop adult servings even though we only got one scoop each?”, she said “yes”. Not wanting to cause a scene I just paid the extra money and moved along. Then, my wife let me know that one of the things we ordered was the wrong flavor. When she tried to go back and get the lady working to fix the problem the person at the store told her that she already had the correct flavor and didn’t do anything about it. I would only give this place a single star but the waffle cones were great. Ice cream was just marginal and getting ripped off really soured the entire experience. Truly disappointed since we are ice cream lovers and had been looking forward to trying a local place that advertises making their own ice cream! Most assuredly will not return and would not recommend to others either based on this extremely poor...

My family has always loved getting ice cream here in years past. When we are back home, we talk about how much we are looking forward to coming back because of how good it is. However, last night, we stopped in hours before closing time and were greeted by an extremely rude worker who acted like our presence was the biggest inconvenience of her life. She then told us they didn’t have waffle cones, despite there being 5 of them sitting behind her. Nonetheless, because of our prior experiences, we decided to give it another chance tonight. I ordered a double scoop and was given a single scoop (that might be generous) with a, “Sorry, that’s all we had left of that flavor.” No attempt at offering another flavor. No attempt at refunding any part of my payment. Shortly after we ordered, the place closed up for one of the workers to go on an apparent break (despite there still being another worker in the establishment) and multiple families walked up and walked away without being served. Not sure if there is new ownership, but the place is...

We went to STJ Scoops a couple times on our recent trip (Dec, ’23 – Jan, ’24). It’s a great place. The variety of ice creams, both hard and soft serve, was impressive, and the “adult” flavors taste legitimately like what they say they are. Painkiller ice cream for me, please!

STJ Scoops is located at the far east corner of Mongoose Junction. There’s outdoor seating, if you want to stick around, which we did (1/3/24). It’s great for couples like us, but it’s PERFECT for families! We saw so many families there, probably after a full day on the beach, and what better way to finish your day on St. John than with some ice cream?

Confession: One night, we went there BEFORE DINNER! Hey, it’s vacation! On the island! Don’t miss St....

I ordered two scoops of vanilla in a waffle cone with rainbow sprinkles and this is what I got. $10 for a double scoop waffle cone and it’s barely filled. Terrible customer service. I used to come here years ago before the hurricane. Now it’s gone down hill and must be under new management, it’s not as good as it used to be. I’m very disappointed and won’t be coming back. Updated reply to the owner: I’ve attached a picture of my receipt, it cost me $12 for that cone. The employee was a very young looking boy, I totally understand that he’s a new employee but he should know just looking at the cone that it’s not full. Especially if I paid $12. Also I don’t appreciate your sassy reply. As I said before I won’t be coming back.

On warm evening in Virgin Islands, the best place to enjoy a cool treat. Went to St. John Scoops for the BEST ice cream on the island. My kiddos got their cookies and cream, while I got the strawberry. The ice cream was creamy, flavorful and the waffle cones were like butter melting in your mouth. The service we received was great, being a new comer, the host gave us the best flavors and a complete tour of the store. Would come back to this store again and again, and so should you! Enjoy.
