Read moreThis is my fourth trip to Saint John, and I love to come shopping here at Mongoose Junction. Some of the stores don't survive the economy as it changes over time but I love that these shops are unique and present a lot of life local crafts. (Some of the goods they sell here are imported, not made on the island which is a little bit disheartening, but it's a great place to pick up souvenirs home accents, and t shirts swimsuits.)
When we were here last year, we visited a dispensary, and we're happy to see that it is still up and running and prospering.

Read moreThis place has a mix of high end ($1k+ jewelery) as well as more affordable unique souvenirs. Not like the general souvenir shops like in Red Hook, though those are alright too. But Mongoose Junction is on another level. Even if all you do is walk around and admire the architecture it wont be time wasted. I was speaking with one of the shop keepers and they said the complex was built in the 1980s and is still owned and maintained by the same man.
