Amazing taste. Me and my wife came in after 11pm, (kitchen closed) but they still took our order. We ordered a family meal for 3. The 2 women and the man at the counter still took our order. I was really shocked but pleased with the service. The food took 15 mins or less and was really big portion plus the best flavors possible. If you want food and maybe out abit late this is the place to go. The 2 women that took my order was really nice and patient even tho I couldn’t read what I wanted so I showed her. She laughed and told me I understand you. I will for sure be coming back to this place. I’m trying to type this on a super full stomach. Thanks to your lovely place. I try different places hoping to get the best food from the motherland. I am super pleased here. I want to try everything that they have!!! KEEP UP THE AWESOME FOOD. CHEAP price with...

Last night we found a real gem. We ordered a sampler platter to share along with some spicy lamb stew. I don't know the names of the dishes...But the flavors are amazing!

We were served a variety of vegetarian dishes on injera, a traditional Ethiopian bread. Our waitress explained the way it's eaten, by tearing off a piece and using it to pick up a mouthful.

The food is spicy and very flavorful. It's healthy, too! This is an eating adventure. I didn't see any American style foods on the menu.

We devoured our ample dinner, paid a very reasonable check, tipped our lovely waitress, (who showed us an agelgil, which the restaurant is named for), and went home to enjoy our food coma.

I can't wait to go back, maybe next time I'll try breakfast and some of the Ethiopian...

We ordered the Agelgil basket and the Meat and Veggie Combo for two for pickup. We also ordered extra Injera. Our meal came to just under $60 and we fed two adults and two teenage boys with at least two servings leftover. Everyone was full. Our food was done quickly and was obvious hot and fresh when we picked it up on time. This was our first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and we were not disappointed! So flavorful! It's spicy but pleasantly so. A nice tingle instead of a painful burn. The Doro Wat (chicken and egg stew), lentils, and collard greens were huge hits and everyone raved about the Injera and it's tenderness and yummy sourdough flavor. We recently moved into the neighborhood and cannot wait to try again.

We happened to try this place on Eid Al Adha....

I went here a while ago, and I really needed to think about how i feel about the place. My overall consensus is that it is awesome. The lovely waitress who didn't understand what we were doing there was so kind. Someone I was with wanted a side order of cottage cheese" eww idk why" . But to make sure that it would be like the waitress brought a small sample of it to try so we didn't waste our money which I really appreciated. We got this dish the was like a Bready, meaty, and peppery mixture. Inside the mixture had cut up pieces of the same bread meant to consume the dish with. Very good, huge portions. Total bill was like 13 bucks and this plate could feed 3-5 people. We got #26/27.

We ordered the sambusa for an appetizer, two 21's and one 39. The sambusas were the best thing we ate out of the entire meal. The beef in 21 was so tough and chewy but we didn't want to say anything because we already had to wait an extra 30 minutes to get rice with our meals since it wasn't ready, we were there at 5:30 pm so during dinner. We were fine to wait and didn't have an issue we just didn't want to wait again. The 39 was more tender probably because it is lamb which is a softer meat. Anyways, we sat for another 30-45 minutes waiting for the check. It was just not a good experience. Even though the food has a good flavor, the meat was terrible for the beef.

Agelgel Ethiopian Restaurant is the best one in the US and Minnesota serving delicious Ethiopian and Eritrean foods. Their Tibes ( fried beef) is the best. In addition, the staff are very welcoming and supportive. Customer service is up to the standard in the restaurant. Zelalem, the owner of the restaurant, is always with the staff welcoming customers. He is humble, professional and knowledgeable. You may ask him for his recommendations, and he knows the specials of the house based on your needs. Thanks for your service, Zeli. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience best Eritrean and Ethiopian delicious foods.
