I was hungry and was curious about whether or not this Zantigo was like they were almost 40 years ago before they all became Taco Bell. I'm disabled and have great difficulty standing, let alone walking anywhere, by after a 3 hour drive I also needed to relieve myself. So I figured I'd go in, use the lavatorial room and get a quick bite to eat.
However, I was greeted with the advisement that I could not have the key to the restroom unless I purchased something before using the restroom. Of course I don't think that I'd really like to bring food into the place that I'm going to relieve myself!!! The manager was insistent that the store policy is strictly enforced no matter what, no exception!!! However, that is false. Only a few days ago one of my former colleagues from the police department had to use that same restroom and they had no issue giving her the key without a purchase, no issue, no strict enforcement of the policy like it was when I wobbled in the establishment with a cane in my hand! So it's not worth it to stop in for any reason in my humble opinion!!!! Sad sad sad day and very unpleasant circumstance for a disabled person!!!!
Don't make the mistake of going in if you've got to go... McDonalds is just a few blocks down and has no issue accommodating...
Read moreI'm 50 pounds over weight, with gray hair. Hardly a 'junkie.' I came in having to use the ladies room, with the full intention of purchasing food. I was greeted upon entering, as I quickly proceeded to the back of the restaurant in search of the ladies room. I didn't see one for women, just men. I asked an employee is there was a ladies room, and she explained I needed to buy something to use the bathroom. I was given a key to use the bathroom with my order. The door did not display a gender, just that a purchase must be made to use the facilities. Clean, nice bathroom. My only issue is some discernment should be used when enforcing the 'rule' of bathroom usage. Especially, when the customer is visibly uncomfortable, and in desperate need of a bathroom. Incidentally, I asked for extra onions. However, what I received was one, single piece of onion in my bean, and cheese burrito. I've been going to Zantigo's since the age of 4. It was the one on Suburban. This is the first time I felt the need to voice my opinion. Hopefully, in the near future, these two issues can be addressed, and...
Read moreWe last visited a Zantigo's 40 years ago in Cincinnati, Ohio (Calhoun St ? in Clifton). Of course, the franchise has pretty much disappeared since then. When we had a chance for a short vacation in the Minneapolis area, we specifically planned for lunch at Zantigo's. The night before our visit, visions of cheese chilitos, tostadas and burritos danced in our heads.
The actual visit didn't live up to our expectations. The cheese chilitos were pretty much the same and we enjoyed filling up on them. The hot ones weren't nearly as spicy as I remember. There wasn't a tostado to be found anyplace. After gobbling down chilitos, there wasn't any interest in trying a burrito......
