Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Saint Paul

Went to buy dinner for my family at this store. Brought the food home after purchasing it, we ate the chickens and realized the chickens was still raw and there was still raw blood on the bone. Took it back to the store for a refund and they had me waited for the manager to come in for her shift, waited 10 mins and she finally arrived. I address her my issue with the food and she took a look at it (grabbed the chicken pieces in the box with her bare hands to examine it) and she said since we already took a bite off the chicken pieces she can't do nothing about it and can not refund me my money back. I ask for corps' number and her name. She wouldn't give me her name and then went and wrote corps' number for me which she purposely wrote the wrong number. I Google up corps' number and addressed my issues about the food and about the manager's situation. Corp was nice enough to credit back me with a $20 gift certificate and apologize about the manager's situation. Couple days later I went back during the same manager's shift and reordered some food. I watched her cook my food for me. When she was done cooking and gave me my food I smiled 😊 at her. The manager was that old Mexican lady that can't even barely speak English right. I have been eating at Popeye's chicken for nearly 45 years, y'all!!! Ever since I first moved down to Chicago in 1980 and tried their spicy chicken, there was no more KFC for me! Their red beans and rice side dish, or dirty rice, or Jambalaya all became favorites eventually. Some things have come and gone, but the chicken is still the bomb, even if the pieces have continued to shrink quite a bit in size over the years. I also love their frozen lemonade; plain! NO mango for me (ugh, gross!) nor strawberry either! When I want to eat a little "light", their blackened chicken strips fill the bill perfectly! Adding a bit of decadence like their blackened ranch dipping sauce is perfection, btw.

My one and only problem with THIS particular location, (and which I've NOT noticed at ANY other locations, FYI) is that WHENEVER I order a couple of spicy chicken thighs, (That's my standing order) there is always (and I do mean ALWAYS) a big chunk of the breading missing from each of my thigh portions. To what purpose? And WHY from just this store location? It's been going on for a dozen or so years at least. Is someone trying to take a simple pleasure from me by ruining the joy?...

While dashing with my husband, this Popeyes was slow (we waited in the drive thru for at least a half hour) and when we finally got up to the window, the 2 young men that were working, (actually weren't working but playing loud music and having way too much fun playing on their phones and telling jokes during which time we had to scream over the music to get their attention. When we did finally get their attention, they took our order info for our dash and promptly went back to what they were doing. One worker even laid his head on the stainless steel table he was laughing so hard. After another 5 minutes of trying to regain their attention, my husband had to get out of the car and stand directly in front of the open drive thru window and demand that we get our order after which the worker became hostile and rude while calling my husband names which ended with a threat to my husband's life "I'll kill you little white boy". Take from this whateve you want but it's this humble top reviewer for Google maps that there far better and safer places to eat than this Popeyes. I would go 25 miles out of my way or go without all together before I went near...
