Chocolate and Coffee connoisseur and hobbyist take note!
If you are in the mood for a quality cup of coffee or delicious chocolate treat this is THE place to go in St. Paul. Located on the second level of the Pioneer Endicott Building, Lorraine & Mark, have built a lovely mom and pop business that focuses on customer service and providing a product of the highest quality. Comparable in price to that of Starbucks or Caribou, why not take your money to support this local business.
Product: -If chocolate is your game, enjoy choosing from a variety of chocolate truffles and bark at 41%, 68%, 85%, and 99% for you purists out there. In addition to the different levels of cocoa, enjoy the variety of flavors at any concentration such as mint, Himalayan caramel, and raspberry to name just a few. After one bit you know that Lorraine & Mark take their craft seriously and take pride in the chocolate treats they create. -If you are looking for something more substantial try and of their baked goods such as their lemon bars, an assortment of German Chocolate cakes, and various cookies and oatmeal bars. -The coffee is made by the cup with beans sourced from various locations. Be sure to ask them about their aeration technique. They approach their brewing like one would approach a fine red wine. If you would like to get the full experience, order a mocha brewed with their home sipping chocolate which you can also purchase in a bottle if you would like to make your own. -While I have yet to try their smoothies, teas, and many of the chocolate treats I have no doubt that they are made with the same care as their other products. -Ice cream from Sebastion Joe's means that they care about serving high quality ice cream to accompany their chocolates.

Read moreGrabbed an affogato to go and a couple of their truffles recently! This was my first time trying an affogato so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. Their silky smooth vanilla ice cream and tart espresso both complement each other well. You get the sweetness from the ice cream which gets balanced out by the tartness of the espresso. As the ice cream started to melt towards the end, it incorporated into the espresso and made for a tasty experience. I'm not a huge coffee person but this was a wicked combination of flavors. Later on, I had the pleasure of enjoying their truffles which were all unique in their own way.
#1 Mint Truffle
The mint truffle was the perfect balance of chocolate at 85%. You get that mint flavor right away which also leaves a nice aftertaste. This percentage of chocolate I found to be a good balance in terms of being able to enjoy all the minty goodness.
#2 Caramel Truffle
Next, there was the caramel truffle which was 41% chocolate and rivaled the mint truffle. There was a nice milkyness to the chocolate and smokiness from the caramel. The flavors were distinct in this truffle and it kind of reminded me of flavors that you would get in a Riesen. I really enjoyed this truffle as well.
#3 Raspberry Truffle
Lastly, there was the raspberry truffle at 99% chocolate! That raspberry taste was upfront and also left a pleasant aftertaste. However, the percentage of dark chocolate was a bit strong and overpowering at times. Therefore, I would recommend 85% or less in this truffle if you aren't a huge fan of that strong...
Read moreI'm obsessed with this place! My boss treated me to a Legacy blended latte (which has ice cream in it) on my very first day at my new job. I came from downtown Minneapolis so I was skeptical and sad about most things in St. Paul. However, legacy is the bright spot. I have to limit how often I go (though no doubt I'm now a regular).
I've had nothing bad there. Legitimately. I've tried a lot of things. I used to work at a bakery in high school and college so I'm a bit of a snob. Their coffee is great! They only have pour overs, no drip. It's always great. Iced drinks are divine. Their German chocolate cake is the best I've ever had. It's not overly sweet. It's just pure good. Even the rare savory item they have is great!
Because they deserve their own paragraph: the truffles are insane. They are $2.50 and likely the best you'll ever have. They are fresh and have a crisp crust. The filling is not too sweet and velvet. The flavors are great. The caramel and Himalayan caramel are great. I've had a hard time branching out from them but I've vowed to myself to start. I haven't been disappointed with my limited tries (lemon and margarita - both seasonal flavors).
Apparently I need to try their chai after reading these reviews. You know I'll be there soon!
This place is a must! Just go. You won't be disappointed because even the...
