Jimmy B's Beach Bar — Restaurant in Saint Pete Beach

This place deserves more stars as the food was good and the location perfect but due to the rude service, I can't give it more stars. Based on service alone, I would give it zero stars. Our visit was on Wednesday, May 2 at 7pm...maybe by wait staff descriptions given below, the manager can figure out who to have a conversation with about providing better service.

We seated ourselves (upper deck; north end) as the sign told us to. We sat for 15 minutes never being acknowledged even though there were 3 waitresses moving about in our section. I went to the bar to get us drinks.

After getting the attention of the (long, blond curly haired) waitress, she said she would be right over. Five more minutes passed. I looked to another (brunette) waitress and asked for service to which she, clearly annoyed, answered "yes". Finally, 10 minutes later (for a total of 30 minutes with no service) Shannon came to us. She ranted for 5 minutes about how this wasn't supposed to be her table and the "other girls" aren't pulling their weight and how management is terrible, etc. WE DON'T CARE. That isn't how you greet ANY customer....EVER!

So she takes our order and the food arrives in a timely manner. The Ahi Tuna and fish tacos were good The eggrolls were tasty, but the portion was ridiculous (2 small eggrolls cut in half for $12). Shannon never visited our table until 10 minutes AFTER finishing our food. In fact, we had to go to the bar to get our own drinks (which my sister got at the inside bar because beach bars were too busy/crowded). That bartender gave her bottled beer and she said "I'm going to Jimmy's with these. Do I need them in plastic cups?" He replied that the bottles were fine. When she sat down at our table, the blond waitress came over yelling at her that she can not have glass out here and asking who served her. This waitress couldn't be bothered to wait on us and now she was taking her time to yell at my sister. That's how they treat customers? Simply bringing over two plastic cups and a calm explanation would have sufficed.

We then asked for the check which Shanon dropped off immediately but we waited another 10 minutes for her to cash us out.

I have had my share of bad service but rude service is unacceptable. Wish we had stopped and spoke with the manager but at that point, we just wanted to cut our losses and leave.

This could have been a 4 or 5 star review but Shannon and her co staff mates ruined that experience. 2 stars is two too many......but the food and atmosphere deserved...

I’ve only left one other review in my life and it was a 5 star. I’m not the kind of person to complain but absolutely trust the negative reviews about this place. My friend and I were visiting his cousin who is a local. She told us we had to hit the beach bars so we started at Postcard Inn, had a couple drinks and made our way to Jimmy B’s. Huge mistake to go around shift change with these workers. We all ordered some drinks and were sitting around. The live band was good so my friend and his cousin went to the dance floor and danced along with many other people. We ordered some fries and they were delicious but we had to go ask a bartender to place the order rather than tableside service because we couldn’t get anyone’s attention. After we all had about 2 drinks and a mixed shot, we went to get another round and an incredibly rude bartender said “I’m not comfortable serving you, go to another bar.” Not just to one of us, but all 3 of us. When my friend’s cousin asked if she could at least close her tab, she was told that they had already closed out our tabs and taken a 20% tip of course. We went to talk to a manager because it’s one thing to deny service but it’s another to award yourself a tip. The manager said he would “get to the bottom of this”. He came back and at first, he said that my friend and his cousin were dancing “wildly” on the dance floor and that’s why we were cut off. They were not. Far from it and FAR from being the most over the top dancers out there. After telling him that and pointing to other people dancing more outlandishly, he suddenly had another excuse and said that the bartenders were concerned that we were being over served because we had opened a tab with the previous shift. Keep in mind that tips go to whoever opened the tab so not the new lady who had made several inappropriate tipping related comments to many other patrons that we overheard. None of us like making a scene or causing a problem so we were very kind and respectful to the manager. His grand solution: go to another bar. I have to say the vibes at Jimmy B’s were great at first. It’s the service that is absolutely atrocious. I have never been treated so rudely as a paying customer just minding their own business and not causing a single problem. If you have any doubts that maybe we were more drunk than we thought, after being escorted out by the bouncer (totally unnecessary after we told the manager we were leaving), we walked to Coconut Charlie’s. I really don't want to leave one star, but unfortunately our visit yesterday left us appalled. Everything started out great, the place was not very busy at all. There are five of us total, my cousin and her friends are in town from Georgia so I thought Jimmy B's would've been a perfect place. The server greets us and says we are her first table of the day, great. Her name is Lucy. Everything is going smooth, the music, drinks, and food were on point. When we finish eating the server drops off the check and says it's time for her to go home, which we all understand considering we work in the industry. She came back about two times and saw there wasn't a card on the check and left before we could say we would like to be separate. So she waits about 10 minutes to come back a third time, and tells us that she cannot split the check and we need to just venmo each other. I'm sorry what? So she then goes on to say that we should have informed her that we were going to be separate and that no other table has never not let them know beforehand they are on separate checks? As someone who was a server for 3 years, this happens very often. My mom then decided to use her card to pay, and we were all shocked at the attitude coming from this girls mouth. Then we thought to look at the check again and we see there's a 20% gratuity added onto the check. When we go online, it says parties of SIX or more there’s auto gratuity, when we were a party of FIVE. We were already having a bad day from getting t-boned, and wanted a nice place to chill and have a couple drinks on the beach. We left utterly disgusted, and the server yelled across the restaurant at us on the way out. We have tried 4 times to reach management before writing a review because we didn't want this experience to reflect the restaurant as a whole, but it needs to be known what happened, and this person...
