We booked this room for Spring Break ‘24, with my 8 year-old Son. We stayed for 3 nights. Upon booking Sirata several months ago, the photos on the website “drew us in”; we hadn’t really found any other hotel or resort that looked pleasing & wasn’t $500+ a night. Sirata was still somewhat “reasonable” for spring break time: ($400-ish/night), & we ultimately settled on that after seeing the website, photos, etc. We arrived & I could tell right when we pulled in — just from the condition of the outside of the building, the sign, etc. — that it wasn’t going to deliver on what we saw online, months prior. A LOT of high school spring breakers; which… it didn’t look like THAT kind of a hotel when we booked it. It looked like it was for families. (*We later noticed it IS quite kid-friendly & they seemed to keep the rowdy ‘kids’ at the opposite end of the resort as the families… this was one of the ONLY positives during our stay*). When we checked in, it says we are supposed to get 2 bottles of water - we did not. We — like many other reviews mention — also were unaware of the resort fee, AND the daily fee for parking our rental. I tried to remain positive. The elevators were all pretty beat up/had been abused. We got off the elevator to find out our room — along with most all of the others — was outdoor access. So, it’s NOT a “resort”… it’s basically a glorified motel. The room we booked with 2 queen beds was SUPER small — not like what we’d seen on their website. The bathroom was SO small, there’s NO way two adults could be in there at the same time. Walls, doorways & floors were ALL banged up. It was terribly musty & old smelling. The water smelled bad; some of it may have come from the filtering process they have to do with the ocean water, but it just stunk. We did discover a small, stand alone de-humidifier in the corner of the room. We turned that on the day we arrived & ended up emptying the tank on it 3 times! That’s how much moisture was in that room! Went to turn the TV on - remote didn’t work. Tried using the room phone to TELL them the remote didn’t work - and the PHONE didn’t work! Was almost laughable at this point. Went down to Rum Runners restaurant the night we checked in… sat for 20 minutes, never greeted by a server. I went up to the bar & asked if we were supposed to order from him or were we going to have a waiter. He very rudely said, “If you’re sitting at a table, you have a waiter.” As most hotel restaurants — severely over-priced for “bar food”. Housekeeping hadn’t come once in 2 days. We finally had to go down to the front desk, they did apologize, but also said they could SEE on their screen that our room had not been cleaned since our arrival. They put in an “emergency request” as they called it… 4 hours later, we come back from the pool, STILL no housekeeping! We tracked a maid down in our section & she had LITERALLY cleaned EVERY room in our hall & skipped JUST ours! Once approached in person, she obliged to tend to our room. Our second day, went to turn the bathroom faucet on & no water came out. Couldn’t flush the toilet, nothing! Again went down to the front desk, they said they had a water main issue in our building & “didn’t know” when it’d be back on. What is the “resort” fee for again?! We didn’t even have RUNNING WATER for almost our entire second day! When it DID come back on way later that evening, it looked like chocolate syrup & we had to keep the faucet running before using it. (*They agreed to take $50 off our room for just that night*) Very dated, old rooms. St. Pete, in general, has become that way, it seems. So, we won’t be going back there. Feels like you’re stuck in 1985. Their pool chairs/loungers were white & they were FILTHY! Wouldn’t even sit on them without a towel. Positives: The two pool areas ARE pretty nice & they had bingo & rubber duck races for the kids. If you read all of the other poor reviews on here — believe them! They have done a great job of making this place look like something it definitely is not!

Just finished a 4 night stay at Sirata Beach Resort. Upon arrival, I was given a room in "building 4". Walking up to the building, it clearly looked run down, on par with an old motel. Upon entry into the room (ocean view suite, 1 king bed with sofa bed), I noted multiple small dead bugs all over the suite (on the bed, on the floor, in the living space). I'm not the type of person to complain or request changes at hotels or restaurants, so at first I didn't think to say anything, but after awhile, I knew I needed to. Although I can accept that bugs may be present in Florida and at an oceanfront property, they should not be present in a suite that supposedly was just cleaned for check in.

Upon calling down to the lobby with this issue, I was told "oh they are love bugs, it's love bug season, would you like us to clean the room or would you like a different room?" I requested a different room. The front desk staff were pleasant and seemed accommodating. The next room was located in the same building, different floor. This suite appeared clean, though clearly old. The bathroom had mold/caulking that appeared old, the sink was scratched up, and everything appeared outdated. This is not what you see in the pictures at all.

Later that first night, I decided to order room service using the QR code posted on the dresser in the bedroom area. After an hour, I tried to call using the "room service" option on the phone, however it was busy. I pressed "restaurant", also busy. Ultimately I contacted the operator/front desk. They said they'd call the kitchen. As I was on hold, it disconnected, so I called back. I was then placed on hold again, then told that they spoke to the restaurant manager, who confirmed the order was placed, and they should be reaching out, but the order should also be arriving soon. Almost another hour passes, no call, nothing. I call the front desk again to follow up, and I'm told that the restaurant manager had actually "just" stopped by the lobby, they asked if I used the QR code, and said they couldn't find my order. I stated that I was already charged for the order. I was then told that I could stop by one of the two restaurants/bars at the property to place and pick up the order since I was already charged. I asked why they could not deliver it since I ordered "room service", and was not given a satisfactory answer. So much for "room service". The restaurant closest to building 4 appeared closed even though I was told it was open, so I went to the lobby to find the other restaurant (no tour, orientation, map, etc. was given upon check in). I placed the order at the Rum Runners bar, and the bartender was pleasant and understanding, and offered free drinks (which I politely declined, as I found the whole experience unnerving).

After that first day's experience, I don't have any other complaints, especially since I didn't order room service or need any staff interventions after. The pool was open early and nice, I had a drink at Rum Runners that was good, and the beach is right on the property. There is plenty of parking as well. The clientele trends towards the retirement age, and many seem to be regulars. I overheard other patrons mentioning bugs in their rooms and requests to change rooms as well, so I know this is not unique to me. I should have read the reviews, as others have expressed the same concerns regarding the state of the rooms in building 4 (and I believe 3). This is not what is advertised in the pictures at all. From what I understand, Hilton took over the property, and are in the process of renovating all rooms, though not all are complete.

I am not a complainer (I'm an introvert), and I have stayed at many hotels in many locations, including around Florida (prior trip was to Daytona Beach). I would confidently state that I would never stay at this hotel again, as I've never felt the way that I did at any other hotel I've...

I just returned home from a vacation that unfortunately left me feeling like I need another vacation and honestly a shower.

My friend and her fiancé have stayed at this resort often and have had great experiences. This is why she chose this hotel for our Southwest Vacation, totally understandable! However, there were 6 girls and while 3 had a different experience (still not a great one) with their stay in their room, the other 3 girls (which included me) had nothing but a poor experience.

Let me explain my experience. At check in, which took about 30-45 min the workers said we owed fees that were not posted when originally booking this reservation. So now, we owe even more money, for what? As this was a horrendous stay. We were to have conjoining rooms, however the staff messed this up which then prolonged our check in due to 3 girls having to change rooms. The room I was staying in was musty/wet smelling as soon as we walked in. I had to empty a dehumidifier 4 times during this stay, which was Thursday around 10am-Sunday at 4:30am. That is unacceptable, along with many other things! Such as: rust stains on the floor, a filthy bathroom, filthy floors, damaged faucet handle that fell off when turning the sink off, along with many other things. Oh, not to mention that our bathroom flooded when one of the girls was taking a shower due to poor plumbing.

Our place was 100% unacceptable and did not look like the rooms/hotel that were posted on their website and Google. We had to wear our flip flops the whole time while in our room and also showered with them on as well. We lived out of our suitcases the whole time, as we did not feel comfortable placing our belongings in the dresser drawers. Oh, and they do not do housekeeping unless you ask, and then they show up 5 hours after. The staff was rude, besides one lady that seemed to be a manager and the housekeeping lady once she was able to arrive. As for the other staff, they seemed incompetent this whole stay, unaccommodating and simply just rude.

As for getting into our rooms after a long beach day, I believe 5 out of the 6 girls had to get new keys made due to being locked out of our rooms multiple times. Who wants to deal with that when it’s 90 degrees and all you want to do is be back in your room to shower and get ready for dinner. Also, the “amenities” that they show online are not amenities as you have to pay almost $60 for two chairs and an umbrella daily, which from what I hear were way cheaper before or free. Along with a social hour which consisted of free drinks that no longer is offered anymore either.

Needless to say, I am asking for a refund as this was unacceptable from the moment we checked in, to the moment we checked out. This has been the worst hotel experience and stay I...
