CD Roma used to be our go-to spot with great specials. Our last few visits have definitely been subpar and after our last one, we’ve decided that we will be taking our business elsewhere. One time at dinner we waited 40+ minutes for a table, told one was getting wiped down for us and will be ready (she even pointed to said table) and then gave it away to someone walking in (obviously a regular) who proceeded to walk past everyone and said “look, a table is ready, just sit down” to his family. When we brought it up to the hostess, she told us to just continue to wait and that it’s okay to just leave if we weren’t happy about it. We decided to leave and go somewhere else instead. This past Friday 6/7 we decided to give the restaurant one more try for lunch. Not only did we have to flag down someone after waiting 15+ minutes, one of our party members didn’t even receive a cup water after asking for one 3 times (first time when I sat down ahead of said party member and ordered for him, the second time when said member sat at the table, and last time asked for one to go). The waitress actually brought us an empty to go cup instead of requested water! To top it all off, my mom was brought the wrong dish but due to time constraints, we didn’t bother asking for what she originally ordered. It’s disappointing since CD Roma used to be such a gem but we will be warning others to go elsewhere from now on too so they don’t have similar...
Read moreI just want you guys to know that I love this restaurant and I order from here often because I love your food so much. I also come in person often and bring anyone I know to the restaurant because I love it so much. I ordered via Uber Eats tonight and I am not pleased at all with what showed up. I get that it’s the end of the night, but that is no excuse. This is not cool.
I ordered a Caprese salad with med rare steak tips, a Children’s spaghetti, and dessert “Italian donuts.” I received the dessert with zero sauces, cold, doughy, and undercooked. I also received steak tips cooked medium, which is fine, but they are so spicy I cannot eat them! I don’t understand what happened there, I don’t understand why that’s spicy because it never has been before, but I literally cannot eat it and I paid 10 extra dollars for it. I don’t understand why it’s spicy? Again, that has never happened.
I’m going to guess that to make up for the errors they knew they were making in advance, they sent me a chicken Alfredo on the side to make up for it, but I don’t like chicken Alfredo and this isn’t what I wanted. I tried to call the restaurant upon receipt, but it appears you’re closed for the night. I would love for someone to reach back out to me and fix this, because Uber Eats won’t do shit...
Read moreCD Roma's is an unassuming power house of a restaurant located in a strip mall behind Chipotle. What can I say about this place? What can't I say? 8 rotating beers on tap make me salivate just tapping this out on my old Samsung Galaxy S7. I like to get shined up on a couple of these brews before moving up field. First down! I've had many a good feast here. Like the great Ragnar, lord of the Vikings eats beside Odin in the hallowed halls of Valhalla, I too sit, a hungry, bedraggled warrior, at CD Roma's in St. Petersburg. A favorite of the family is the beer cheese. A decadent blend of savory cheese with bacon, the perfect accoutrement to the doughy, soft bread that greatly deserves to be a centerpiece in this anecdote. But I digress. The seasonal dish on this occasion that I chose was the steak filet tips with mashed potatoes. Stop what you're doing and listen to me. I've been to Outback. I've been to Longhorn (kisses to Anna ;)) These steak tips made the great Norse warrior inside me howl to the moon on a snow covered hilltop. Unbelievably tender, juicy, sweet and savory. My biceps tensed and grew in satisfaction. My wife became suddenly fertile. If you go to one restaurant west of 66 Street and are looking for Italian American fare - go. Also...
