On Saturday, April 13th, I had a very unpleasant experience at this Five Guys location (2201 Tyrone Blvd N, Saint Petersburg, FL). Around 8:45 p.m., I called to place a phone order for two large Cajun fries, since I was in a hurry. The person who answered the phone clearly spoke Spanish, so I asked if we could speak in Spanish, but she completely ignored me and continued in English. That wasn’t a problem for me, so I continued the order in English. She asked for my name and confirmed the order.
I arrived at the restaurant around 9:00 p.m. expecting my order to be ready, as it usually is when I’ve placed phone orders at other Five Guys locations. However, the employees told me they wouldn’t even start preparing the food until I paid, which was strange. Still, I paid immediately at the register and then waited an additional 15 minutes for the fries to be cooked—exactly what I was trying to avoid.
When the fries were finally ready, the cook placed the bags on the counter without saying a word and turned his back on me. I took my bags and headed toward the exit—and that’s when things got worse. Several staff members started yelling things like "she didn’t pay!" and "pay!", loudly and publicly, as if I were stealing. It was extremely humiliating and made me feel disrespected and falsely accused.
I turned back, visibly upset, and showed them my receipt clearly. I even asked if they were planning to charge me twice. And to make things worse, one of the employees sarcastically told me, "Don’t make a show," when they were the ones creating the scene in the first place.
I didn’t ask to speak with a manager at that moment because I was in a rush, but once I got home, I knew I couldn’t stay silent about what happened. I did everything right as a customer—placed my order, paid, waited—and still, I was treated with disrespect, suspicion, and absolutely no professionalism.
I hope management seriously reviews the behavior of the staff at this location. What I experienced was unacceptable, and no customer should ever be made to feel...
Read moreThis Five Guys location is very disappointing, I used to eat at Five Guys every week but then they closed the location close to me and opened a new one a little further away,. that would be fine it's worth going a little further for good food but it seemed like everything just wasn't as good at the new one.
Compared to other five guys this one has smaller fry portions due to having a far smaller or just nonexistent "topper" (which is included in the price of the fries, the topper poured on top of the bag isn't actually extra fries they're just giving you). Even the cajun seasoning, which is delicious, is far scarcer on the cajun fries which are very well seasoned at other locations.
The burgers are often a bit dry, thin well done patties does not mean dry as shown by most other Five Guys locations.
The peanuts that make the wait for your food feel short and pleasant are even poor here, not exactly sure how peanuts can get soggy but they have managed it at this location.
I used to go to five guys very often but now I only go every few months to see if it's gotten better or when I happen to be near a different location as this is the only one close to me and just...
Read moreWhenever I visit, I'm always impressed by the deliciousness and quality of their burgers. The menu is refreshingly simple, focusing on the basics, but they do those basics exceptionally well. The burgers are juicy, the toppings are fresh, and the fries are perfectly crispy.
What sets Five Guys apart is their commitment to customization. You can load your burger with an array of toppings, from traditional lettuce and tomato to more adventurous choices like jalapeños or grilled mushrooms. And don't forget the free peanuts while you wait – a little bonus that adds to the fun experience.
The staff is consistently friendly and efficient, ensuring that your meal is not only tasty but also served promptly. It's no wonder Five Guys Burgers and Fries has earned its reputation as a go-to spot for a satisfying burger fix.
