I was not disrespectful. In fact, the waitress for some reason avoided our table while visiting the other 3 tables multiples times even while noticing our drinks were empty. I attempted to discuss with the young man bartending, that stated he was the manager, and even when I ask what we did and he stated it was our “vibe”. In any event we never said anything to the young lady until I went to the bar and attempted to order drinks after it was obvious she was not going to stop at at our table. In the end, I attempted to request the young man be our server and and that’s when were told about our “vibe” making the the waitress “uncomfortable” even though we had said nothing negative or harsh to either of them. Once advised of our “vibe” and assuming that is a white man with two Jamaican ladies I asked for our tab to be closed and we were then told he would love to do that and that we were not welcome. Please review the cameras if you have any. The young male (manager) and waitress were both extremely defensive and rude to us and the two Jamaican ladies with me felt it was due to their race. As there was absolutely no other reason. We did ask about “cooked” options as we explained that my Jamaican friends didn’t like uncooked food. Retrospectively, maybe they were upset that we didn’t just sit and take the “punishment” that was intended to us for not just sitting there and watching them intentionally serve other tables while even laughing and joking with those tables while avoiding ours multiple passes. I was actually very proud of the fact that no one at our table raised our voice or said an unkind word. We did attempt to find resolution with the only other person server people only to be derided and chastised not for what we had said or done, but told our “kind” and our “vibe” were not welcome!
That said, if you’re truly the owner and would like to discuss with me feel free to contact me directly rather than just take the lies that were attempted to our face and obviously have been relayed to you by the young man and woman on...
Read moreThe best dining experience ever... First I researched (a Tokyo listening bar?), then we found it (no sign, no logo-- a house set in the middle of other homes), then we get to the door (no commotion), and lastly, we opened the door. The eclectic, cool sounds of jazz, blues, funk hit you like a Hokusai wave. Loud but not offensive... other worldy! The sound frequencies are set perfectly to project turntable records from there wall of records. With top of the line speakers and sound proofed padded walls, the sound experience is made for those inside not out. The place is packed with people enjoying the sounds, sights, smells, and drinks in a retro lighted atmosphere! It is the only imported craft Saki tasting bar in Florida right here in our own backyard... downtown St. Petersburg! A hole in the wall but not a dive... classicly, classy! Zach, the owner, sat down with me and my husband, Alex. He explained the concept and wowed us! We shared several tapas style dishes (small menu... prepared to perfection) and although we do not drink, he shared 3 cocktails they could do without the saki -- the most delicious and outstanding non-alcoholic cocktails hands down we had ever had!!! We didn't miss out on the feel good vibes! We spent over an hour absorbing our newly found treasure... I find it hard to share it's secret, but too excited not to let you know what we found! It is a welcoming environment that invites you to sit and stay awhile, taking it all in and with no reservations, no to go's, no deliveries, and no phone calls (that's right... there is no phone number) you can let your eyes wander and ears eaves drop on others experiences without anything taking you out of the moment! A once in a lifetime experience to have over and over again... Don't miss out and check them out-- Word of Mouth is their form of Advertising!!! in between days because it is open 5ish to 10ish...
Read moreIf you are someone of color please read before going to this place. I wish I could give this place zero stars but in an effort to write this review I guess one will do. Let me start off by saying these people completely ruined my friend’s birthday. First of all the waitress got completely offended because we asked questions about other recommendations on the menu seeing that my friend and I didn’t eat raw meet. Secondly after finishing our first drink we waited for the server to come to our table to ask if we needed another drink. After trying to get her attention twice(she got annoyed because she had plates in her hands), that we apologized for, my boyfriend decided to go to the bar to order our drinks. She decided to pass us a few more times so my boyfriend walked to the bar again to ask the other employee to serve us. Of which we were told we were making the serving uncomfortable and we did not match the vibe of the place. Now I don’t know if it was the dynamic of a white man with two black girls but being told we did not match the vibe of the place because we demanded good service was an insult especially on someone’s birthday and I’m assuming if it was a group of white people this would have been a whole different situation.. I think the situation could have been easily remedied but they decided we were not ever welcome...
