I recently dined at the Parasol restaurant inside the Vinoy Hotel in St. Petersburg, FL with 3 friends and it turned into an unexpectedly delightful experience. While my meal was great 2 friends dishes were cold and hamburger was undercooked. Our server, Brett, was fantastic about it. He promptly took it back and even brought the manager over to address the situation. To our surprise, the manager not only fixed the issue, but went above and beyond by comping the entire meal for all four of us- plus they treated us to dessert! It is rare to see such exceptional customer service, and it turned a small hiccup into a memorable afternoon. The atmosphere was lovely and Brett and the manager made us feel truly valued. The Red Sangria’s were delicious and honestly could have ordered a pitcher!! But the delight was in the food! Tuna Tostadas, carne Asada tacos, and a burger topped with manchego cheese and bacon were all beautifully served along side sides of sweet potato fries and black beans and rice. I got 3 drinks, an appetizer, and 2 entrees and the total was around $170. And there was this weird charge on my tab after taxes listed as "other". When I asked about the charge they said that's just Marriott's policy. Add in the $24 valet and you shouldn't be considering this place if you don't have around...
