Very nicely remodeled. With great taste, makes you feel very comfy almost like a home setting with the lobby and porch being very spacious with Nicely furnished lobby with plenty of seating if you have company over for a lil bit. The rooms are pretty small. But considering we had a kitchenette, with all the amenities including, toaster stovetop, micro, fridge w freezer. Nice dishes sharpknives. They s pared no expense outfitting with Myers soaps throughout the kitchen and bathroom. Speaking of bathroom, very spacious. Same size as you would find in a single family home such as a 2/1 or 3/1 size home recently done subway style tile work with a rain shower style shower head that has a wand or switch the focus to your body with the turn of a switch. Also laundry machines are available to use on each of the 3 stories which their were quarters provided by the hotel to do your laundry 100-% free. Nice touch ! For me it these little suttleteas that make the difference for me , not having to spare the expense of doing the laundry mat shuffle , dragging clothes back n forth and paying 20$ to do ur clothes was very refreshing and made our stay extra cozy. The building was built in the 1920s which I had my reservations about, but honestly the way it was remodeled you don't feel like your in a hotel that was built in the 1920s / but they still managed to keep that look from the curb. I would stay here again. And recommend you to as well. We had a basic full size bed efficiency studio appt size room but they have larger available. This could definitely be a nice romantic cozy little trip for couples not so sure about a family of four unless you book larger rooms. No elevator but we all need more exercise...
Read moreThe 1888 Hotel is a locally owned business that has prioritized community over profit. This is exactly what we want in Saint Petersburg - businesses that take care of their people and use their resources for community betterment. I have the utmost respect and gratitude to be housed by them at no personal expense to my family after I was displaced by back-to-back hurricanes. Within the first few weeks of losing my home to a fire, a good friend of mine applied for housing here on my behalf. I was then contacted directly by the owners, and the process thereafter could not have been easier. Fred and his entire team have been incredibly accommodating, compassionate, and community focused. I can only imagine the sheer volume of applications coming in with thousands of residents displaced, and yet they have been more than reasonable with timelines, communication, and overall accomadation. The unit we're staying in is absolutely beautiful, and has exceeded our needs and expectations by far. Thank you to the entire 1888 team for doing what you do, setting the example for other business owners in the area. If you're reading this review a few years down the line when this community has recovered, rest assured that your money goes to a business that will invest into the community in it's...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at the 1888 hotel for the Fourth of July weekend. We were thrilled with our stay! Check in and check out was very smooth. All the details needed to check in were emailed to me prior to our stay and there was a virtual concierge in case I needed any help available through text. You are given a code to enter the building and a code to enter your room. The hotel had complimentary 15 minute loading and unloading parking behind the building- which was more than enough time to gather our belongings and bring them to our room. When entering our room, we found our welcome basket that had some great complimentary treats and our key card to enter the parking garage where we would park our car during our stay! There was also plenty of 2 hour parking around the hotel.
Our room was amazing! It was beautiful and the amenities were so great. It was extremely clean! Our room was like a small one bedroom apartment.
We loved being within walking distance for all the Fourth of July festivities on the pier and close to so many local restaurants. Our kids had so much fun at the pier (great fireworks!), parks, splash pad, and driving a short way to the Children’s museum and aquarium!
Thanks so much for an...
