Let’s get the negatives out of the way first. Tried to call for takeout, but no one answered the phone, so I went there directly. The staff was so overwhelmed, I saw them disconnect calls several times, which explains why I couldn’t speak to a live person. Placed my order of two subs, and two orders of fries, at 6:20 p.m. and wasn’t out the door, for almost an hour. The place is the size of a small studio apartment, and the fact they use Uber Eats, Grub Hub, and Door Dash, creates even more chaos in the lobby. O.K. now the positive. The subs and fries were extremely good. Crinkle cut fries were well seasoned and we had them add cheese, which provided a generous coating and flavor. My cheesesteak sub, with onion and bacon, was delicious, and enhanced by the super soft sub roll. A meatball sub with cheese, was thoroughly enjoyed by my sibling. If Bennett’s could just shorten the customers wait time (by the way, the young man taking the orders, was apologetic for the long wait to many), then I’d give them 5 stars…..hopefully, in the future,...
Read moreI crush a steak and cheese from this place at least once a week, of course I get the port fries on the side with the absolutely incredible Sriracha aïoli, and you always have to throw in dessert so Rice Krispy treats from there are a must, the company that makes them uses brown butter and sea salt and they are fantastic, whenever I get takeout from there I order four so I can have a few during the week lol. The bread is fantastic always fresh, never dry. I like the day allow you the options of double American cheese or double provolone as well as salami pepperoni etc. I totally recommend checking out this hidden gem, it's still the best steak and cheese I have found in the area, the fries are always nice and crispy. 10 out of 10 recommend checking it out for a fully customizable steak and cheese you...
Read moreAs a Maryland native, I was surprised and delighted to see port fries on the menu. It's a crinkle cut fry that's generously seasoned with Old Bay. We ate a few on the way home. They were crunchy and soft and so flavorful. We would come back just for the fries.
Then we got home to our sandwiches, both slightly different variations of cheesesteaks. My girlfriend got to hers first, said "it needs something." After a few bites of my own I couldn't believe how good the fries were and how bland the sandwich was. There's not one redeeming aspect of the sandwich. The meat wasn't seasoned in any way. The cheese is lost. The bread wasn't anything special. I ate it because I paid for it.
I would come back for fries alone and that's it. They need to go back to the drawing board on...
