Update: I want to give credit, when credit is due. After over a year... I came back. The bartenders have been amazing. My experience the second go around has been great. Come and check them out. Plenty of room for everyone, plus good food tunes, and video poker. ---------ā----------------ā--- Having just moved here 7 months ago. My friend and I thought we would support the local Lady's Night event at Honky Tonk Bar & Grill. Being Hispanic and having read some negative reviews about the place we were a little hesitant to go, but went anyway. The bartenders were nice and we were served quickly. The event brought in a nice crowd so we found a table, sat down and waited to order food. We were eager to find a new place and enjoy the event and dinner. The waitress "Alisha", passed by our table numerous times without ever acknowledging us. While we understood that it was busy we were fine waiting our turn. After 20 minutes of being ignored we realized that she was never coming to our table. While she was handing one of the vendors a drink she quickly passed by our table again and I was able to get in a very rushed 2 second message of "when you get a chance, we're ready to order" before we were quickly dismissed. We sat and watched her take the orders of other people who arrived after us. We were there an hour and never got service other than the 2 drinks we ordered upon arriving. My friend asked the bartender the name of the server and conveyed our experience with her. We then observed them talk to her and saw her smirk, shrug it off or however you want to put it. Our money is green just like everyone else's. I don't intend to make this review about the entire bar because of one person's actions or lack thereof... but it really does leave a sour taste in my mouth. Very disappointing and will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wanted to love this place so bad. It had a good crowd which was promising and fun to be around. After Covid times when you go out itās hard to find busy places that make you feel like staying out. So for the atmosphere Iāll give this place kudos. But for that and THAT only. I wish I would have taken pictures of my husbands and my food. It was hardly edible. I got a $17 burger that tasted like rubber and he got some dried up steak. We joked that his plate was meant to be beef jerky. I was there for my friends birthday and just ignored the food though. Then as I watched (being the sober driver) I noticed the bartenders here are a total disorganized mess. They all seem stressed to be busy and like they donāt like their work. They were very rude to my friend when they gave his card to someone else with the same last name. They insisted he was too drunk to remember? He had a few beers and absolutely remembered that he started a tab and never got his card back. It took his wife showing them the bank snapshots online to agree finally that at some point they did in fact take his card, start a tab, then run it and close it with some other guys signature. We totally get accidents can happen like that. That wasnāt the issue. They locked the card. But the accusatory behavior before they even helped try to locate the card and what happened was uncalled for. We didnāt expect much going into a place called the honky Tonk. Weāre not messy drunks or Karenās. Iād love to try again sometime if they possibly would invest in a better cook or menu and train their staff a bit better. Hire people who Want To work and love...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent for job interview, thought it went pretty well. But, I believe I was discriminated against due to age. Can't prove it, but I'd bet my life he hired the two super young pretty, Latina girls with little to no experience over me, even though I have a decade + of experience. Didn't even have the courtesy to inform me after I spent all the money I had on new interview clothes. Rude. Btw, professional bartenders pour by sight, feel and memory. Putting weird colored waters in bottles of cheap unknown labels on a high cocktail table, chest high with no gun and obscure colored bottles of brightly colored water is like trying to swim in a shallow creek during a drought. Not happening. Bar manager stated he is the owners, daughters' boyfriend. Also said," His boss, the owner, her son, daughter and the boyfriend, all work there. No sign of nepotism here! Good luck turning that place around. In response to their response, " I was very positive, friendly and upbeat at the interview. I am disappointed I was not given a chance to work there. It appears to be a great venue. Not sure about the management. I feel potential employees are also potential future customers, even if not hired. A simple email thanking them for their time for interviewing is just my idea of being polite, professional and who knows, they may be great customers or employees some day. That's just good business practices. Btw, I sent a thank you for the interview immediately, before I left the parking lot. I received nothing except a snotty response to my factual review of my experience. Take care and...
