Update : 7/20/18 - Steven (sp?) Is superior in his service and attitude. He really cares about you as a customer and is inspired to get your drink right. He works at this location now, and since hes been promoted, this place has really improved. There are things that are out of their control such as the layout of the drive thru, but their service is much faster lately and they send runners out appropriately. Way to go guys, you are really a great team here in west salem. Thank you for all you do, and put up with. You have a great attitude even when people are not the nicest.
Can someone please tell the employees to stop putting lotion on (i.e. patchouli oil) then handing me my drink? I smell whoever's lotion every time I take a drink of my $5 coffee. It's unfortunate that I live in West salem because it never fails, something is always wrong with my coffee at this one. Many times I drive over the bridge just to go to the Dutch on commercial. I don't understand what's wrong with this particular location, it's definitely not like the other dutch bros I have visited. These kids do not care like the other crews. The patchouli oil was today, but two days ago they didn't seem to know how to make a hot flapjack do i didn't want to wait in their line again for another 20 min do i took my drink to the commercial dutch and an employee named drew (sp?) Was on his game and graciously replaced my drink free of charge and had a great attitude and made sure I tried it before taking off. I moved to West Salem from North Salem and will now go out of my way to go to the same one in North Salem that I've always gone to. They do not openly complain about how customers don't tip like the West Salem one does. This West Salem location openly compared themselves to the Lancaster location by the mall and said that no one in West Salem tips and that the Lancaster location "makes bank". I cannot believe they would complain in front of me while I waited for my coffee. (So glad I didn't tip that time. Ungrateful ppl🙄)
The West Salem staff have let me down so many times on my way to work.
I work different jobs and go here at different times in the day and I would always get a simple americano. Iced or hot depending on the weather. One cream and one sugar. Every time I get this drink it's always a 50/50 chance it's the perfect amount of bitterness or way too creamy and upsets my lactose intolerance. Read moreDutch Brothers delivers a consistent product across all their locations. They're not my favorite place to get straight coffee, but I love their coffee beverages! This location in particular impressed me when an employee went above and beyond for us. We went through the drive-thru one afternoon, ordered a beverage, and asked for a cup of plain hot water to make the baby a bottle with. There was a miscommunication between the order-taker that was working the line and the service window, because when we got our order we were given a cup of ice water. At this point the line was backed up onto the street and I didn't want to be a bother, so I took the ice water and left. The young lady that took our order must have noticed because she went running into the building, filled up a glass of hot water, and ran it out to the street for us before we had a chance to pull away. There's not a lot of places where the employees look out for you like that. It really left an impression on us....
