my daughter and I went into Goodwill this evening to go and buy a few things some clothes and some other merchandise as presents for her auntie I was in the middle of purchasing a sewing machine when I was telling the cashier how excited I was about the price because it was very affordable at that point she looked at the place again and then she called her manager her manager came up and said that it wasn't the correct price tag and that he could not sell the product I asked what the normal price would be on the product and he told me $10 I said okay well I will pay the $10 I really am interested in purchasing the product at that point the manager Jeremy he said no I said I'm willing to pay $20 he then said no that he would not be able to sell the merchandise for 24 hours I then asked if you could write down my name and number and give me a call when they were allowed to sell the product again he then said no if it's here tomorrow then you can get the product threw out the whole time I was shopping I was follewed by a few employees I noticed as almost tripping over the same laady twice. I asked for him to stop speaking to me to allow me the rest of purchase he then told his cashier to cancel the transaction and give me my money back as she only has 7 cents in change to give me. She gave me back the 30 $ back and I was told I was now trespassing he followed me out o my vehicle . HIS CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. IVE BEEN IN RETAIL MANAGEMENT 5+ YEARS IF ANY OF MY EMPLOYEES OR MANAGERS RESPONDED TO A CUSTOMER THIS WAY...
Read moreI, among the rest of the world, would like to know why your companies pricing has sky-rocketed into retail pricing or HIGHER! shirts should NEVER be more than $6 in goodwill stores. Instead I see them marked at $10-$30 not to mention certain items that CLEARLY came from dollar store being marked up to $5 or furniture being $200 - this is an absolute outrage and I don't want to hear "it's because of re-sellers" no. Who cares about them. They're making a living, leave it alone. What happened to the good days when family's on tight budgets could go into goodwill and get a new wardrobe for $20-$30??
This company literally gets EVERYTHING that they sell FOR FREEE!!!! but they wanna charge $30-$50 for a Pair of USED SHOES or $100 for a t.v that MIGHT work?? Or clothes that are heavily used/ torn, stained and they want $15-$30 for it? Are you serious goodwill?
EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP PAYING THESE OUTRAGEOUS PRICES SO THEY'LL FINALLY REALIZE THEY NEED TO DROP THESE PRICES! đ¤
Especially now more than every considering half of America is struggling to stay in their homes or have already been evicted and no longer have home. This is the highest inflation has been since the 80s or something. NOW... I don't agree with any company raising pricing unless it's literally the only way they stay profitable. But GOODWILL? ( YOU'RE NOT A FREAKING RETAIL STORE!!! YOU TAKE IN 'FREE' (IF I COULD MAKE IT LARGER I WOULD. HERE. I'LL SAY IT AGAIN. FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE! YOU GET YOUR CRAP FOR FREEEEEEEEEEE WHY YOU...
Read moreI spent about an hour shopping for professional clothes there, and once I checked out the cashier said âoh we have a problem hereâ and pointed out my Mauriceâs shoes had a yellow, higher priced sticker underneath the red $7.99 (for used shoes!) sticker.
Not only did he accuse me of adding the second sticker, he wouldnât even sell them to me and TOOK THEM AWAY! There were many other shoes double priced, and I asked if possibly they were just re-priced by the store themselves since there were so many. He denied this and said itâs theft..
Now I understand if there is a pricing issue an item cannot be sold, however, Iâve confirmed with other goodwill shoppers that shoes are frequently double stickered/marked down at the end of their colorâs cycle instead of being sent away.
This man obviously isnât aware of his own storeâs policy, and humiliated me because of it. If someone wanted to switch the shoe prices why would they leave the other price sticker in plain view underneath?
Goodwill needs to retrain their employees on their pricing policy. I am not a criminal and wonât be treated like one. I wonât be back to this...
