I approached two employees in the back of the bar with my two crying babies in my car tonight around 9pm. I was really shooken up because my phone died and wouldn’t take a charge. I was on my way home from my parents house in Pelham NH with no GPS and tried my best to get to the highway but a few wrong turns later and I was at Saydes Bar and Grill.
There was a man and a woman chatting behind the bar, now I’m realizing that they were employees on their break. I asked if they could help me. I was totally lost, my phone wouldn’t charge, and my kids were screaming in the car - complete chaos. I asked if I could use their phone to call my parents (which is the oldest trick in the books to steal someone’s phone).
They were so kind to me. They asked me if I was in any trouble (domestically), kept me so calm, asked if I needed help with the kids, and let me call my parents with their phone. After a few failed attempts they texted my mom and she finally returned the calls. My dad was then on his way to come get me to have me follow him home.
Once they knew help was on the way, they checked on me several times to ensure I was safe.
It’s nice to know there are still good people in this world. I was so scared and extremely vulnerable being a woman lost and alone with two babies. I took a chance in asking two strangers in the back of a random bar for help and found myself incredibly lucky that these two individuals were the ones I came upon.
Can’t say anything about the food or drinks at Saydes, but if they are anything like the staff, I’m sure everything is...
Read moreThe best part of this place were the regulars. They were friendly, talkative and it seemed like a positive place to be at. To start off the server/waitress was rude from the beginning with no care for customer service. They took over 30 minutes just to bring out pita bread. My table ordered a salad, tabooli and fried food. The wait time was close to an hour and the place was not busy. Just a few regulars drinking. Our order came back with missing sides and when I spoke to the waitress she had only attitude to give and did not care to help us. She never came back to attend our table and was barely attentive to our table to begin with. She might have checked on us once after taking our orders. This should be a bar and only a bar. Do NOT be fooled by their menu online, it is nothing like what they serve. The food was not good at all. We left almost all of our food there at the table when we left and went to a restaurant as soon as we left that place. Food can't be adjusted I get it, you win some you loose some...but they need customer service training. They did not want to hear any of my feedback and instead ignored our table until our...
Read moreFirst time going here. Apparently it has been owned (Sayde) and operated by the same family for years. It is a nice local place that serves Lebanese food and American food. Very different from most bars you happen across. The atmosphere is somewhat friendly and plenty of seating for a small place. The food was good but I only ordered the Lebanese food. Wanted to try something different and I had no regrets. It seems that there is a lot of locals who come enough to help out but generally speaking. There is only 1 bartender and she doubles as the waitress. It can take a bit to get a drink or service. But all and all, it is local and I will support the...
