I guess this place simply does not care about customer service. I have been stopping here for about 25 years, but I have stopped for the last time. I generally get the Rustler burger with a double patty. I am allergic to onions, so I order it without onions, each & every time. A couple of visits ago, I was told by one of the servers that they preassemble the vegetables, and store them together. So the onions, pickles, lettuce & tomatoes are just in the refrigerator all together & when they need a setup, it is ready to just grab one. So she said if I need it without onions, to order it without vegetables. So I did! Also, I prefer Swiss cheese, however this place does not have Swiss. So they tell me to order White American because it does taste more like swiss, and it does. Well today's visit is the last straw. Not only do they refuse to accommodate a customers needs, they also cooked it in someone else's hash browns, which I did not order. There were hash browns cooked all throughout the burger. Since the last time I was there, and it has been a while since I was in town, they have now changed their fries to the coated french fries. They are no where's near as good as the other ones that they used to have. They are just grease sticks. And the burgers I had were cooked to a charred hockey puck. I just do not understand why they cannot seem to get an order right. It is not that big of a request to get it without onions, yet they refuse to remove them from my plate. They have not got it right for the last 5 or 6 visits, so I am done stopping at Russell's. How many chances do you have to give a place to get it right? I am done rewarding them with more chances to try. The current owners have ruined this once gem of an establishment. My server was great, he was attentive and prompt, so I did leave him a tip, but as for the...
Read moreRussel’s has always had a sweet spot in my heart up until today. For all the staff im sorry. Too the one person alone please understand this is on you, Ashley. we showed up to eat today and were greeted and sat as usual. we have a Baby (a good baby, she didn’t cry or make a mess) who needs a high chair. Not thinking it was an issue we asked for a high chair and took our seats. After about 5 minutes of sitting down and settling in, a Ashley approached us and told us we needed to move… that’s not the issue, we had sprayed the high chair with Lysol for our baby and the waitress started having a fit over the seat being “greasy and filthy” tho we explained it was Lysol… she then wiped all the Lysol off with a dirty rag. after this she made a few rude comments in passing about our baby, and our seating, and the fact her co worker sat us there. At this point we were getting frustrated with Ashley’s unprofessionalism. The real kicker is when she was serving the table behind us and decided to make another comment on our child saying “I would rather serve teenagers then a baby any day of the week” this was a real slap in the face after we had already been moved, had our sanitizer removed, and edured several bitter sweet remarks from her. The final straw was that THE WHOLE MEAL SHE WAS TALKING DOWN ON CO WORKERS IN EAR SHOT OF EVERYONE. She was also treating her coworkers like they were less than her and it was just awful to listen to. To the staff im sorry that wasn’t fair to you or the patrons of the restaurant to be listening to these crash outs. please...
Read moreThe waitress was the worst server I have ever met. (Name on receipt Joni M.). I ordered the Classic breakfast with a cup of coffee. The food was awesome! The service, not so much. I ordered two pieces of pie to go after I ate half my breakfast. Whatever you do, don’t ask her to give you a cup of coffee to go because she gives you an empty styrofoam cup and walks away. Finally when I got her attention, I asked her to fill the cup with coffee. She said she’d get to it when she did another round. Well, I knew her round was going to take awhile because the day before I wanted to buy two pieces of pie. She had the same attitude. She said, “I’ll get it when I get back.” She never got back to me even though she walked by me several times because I was at the counter nearly across from the pie case. She kept ignoring me so I finally left. I gave her a second chance by returning for breakfast this morning, but obviously it’s not me, it’s her. Russell’s is not the only place to eat breakfast in Salina. Bayards has the BEST breakfast choices and the best chicken fried steak in Salina, and the best service compared to this place. And, Perkins is only 4 miles South on 135 and again, the service is excellent. Perkins also has awesome pies and the best Cranberry and Blueberry muffins in Kansas. Servers like this woman will not be tolerated at most places. She must be a relative or good friend to the owner; otherwise, she’d be working at a gas station. I wonder how many other customers she has lost for Russell’s because I’m...
